We only spent one night in Catania. We positioned ourselves there to be close to the airport for departure the next morning. Having said that the accommodation was clean, centrally located and the host was wonderful. Two minute walk to bus for airport, 10 minute walk to the historic area which I highly recommend visiting for a day if possible.....very close to the port and train as well. The bathroom and shower area , while shared with another room, was convenient and we had no problem accessing it. The host had breakfast for us and went out of his way to help us during our stay. He was attentive and caring, which to us meant a lot.
While the area itself is not quiet, we were fine when we closed the nice heavy shutters at night.

Great place to stay for a few nights. Especially if you’re staying for an early flight out. The host was very kind, welcoming, and helpful whenever we had questions. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the fresh croissants they ordered from a local café. Our room was very large and had its own private seating area. The location was also excellent—very close to the bus station, including local and inner-city buses, as well as the train station.
The ladder-style stairs to the bathroom may be a little tricky for anyone unsteady on their feet. But there is a lockable door at the bottom so you have privacy while showering . The seating area shares a wall with another bedroom, although we had no issues with noise. But we do travel with a sound machine. The space was also a little less clean than expected, likely due to quick turnovers between guests. House shoes/slippers may be nice to bring since some areas are shared.

The location is super - right at the central station, which makes it convenient place for layover between flight and train ride.
Also the hosts made some sandwiches early in the morning, so we were able to have breakfast.
I would say it’s a very good quality/price ratio, especially for 1 night stay.
The only thing was that I had a lot of someone’s hair on my towel

I liked the location, and the interior of the stay. My son liked the books and the figurines.
1. It's not an apartment, but a room with shared kitchen, shower and toilet.
2. No sound protection at all - very loud street till the deep night, not able to sleep
3. Mosquitos everywhere - on kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. You can't hear them because of street noise, and get up with all face and hands bitten.
4. In our room, only one night lamp worked, and 2 other lamps didn't work.
