beautiful hotel, very well kept. Staff at reception speak English. The staff does not engage with its guests, which is always hard when I visit Japan. The greeting and the provisioning of water or other requests are quickly and executed to exceed expectations, but there are no conversations. The rooms are big and offer fantastic views of the ocean.
To my great surprise the Spanish staff member (Javier) at the breakfast buffet (which is great too) did greet me in English and over the several days he offered several good tips of what to visit and allowed for a short chat - that made quite a difference for me, besides that we could speak Spanish. He made the breakfast extra nice..
The hotel's safety protocol doesn't allow you to swim outside of the safety net, which for me was a shame as the water was so inviting and I am not a pool person - especially not when the Pacific is just downstairs.

I love everything about the hotel! If I ever come back to Japan I would visit this hotel again!
I did not like that they don’t have different activities in the hotel! I really would’ve liked to have different activities than swimming and the rain kind of ruined the beach. Like tennis or archery or something like that would have made the hotel 100% better but that’s just because I don’t know how to relax hahah

Nice location, almost on the edge of civilization, even considering the distance covered more or less by frequent bus service; perfectly styled and designed interiors; filling and diverse breakfast.
First thing you expect in a beach hotel is… a beach, right? But here you’re not getting it much, except for the hottest hours in the middle of the day. “Beach closed”schedule, nonsensical in itself, seems tailored uniquely for the convenience of the management. Now if other hotels tend to overlook little breaches there, here the lifeguards will get hysterical even off shifts. If you ask for an explanation (say, for an unexpected earlier closure) you get five different explanations. Pools overcrowded, while the only stretch of the water suitable for swimming is closed for vip clients, whom we never saw once. That is really a shame. Queues for breakfast look artificially created by a meaningless table allotment system. Bad communication, even though things do get done eventually. Noise from outside activities on weekend evenings.
