Really nicely thought out home with everything you could really need.
Main bed not to our taste (memory foam very hot at night and lacks back support we find)
Church bell goes all night every fifteen minutes, that is quite disturbing and means you can't really leave a window open when sleeping.

Ideal location in a quiet village with walks and river close by. A short drive to Edwinstowe and Sherwood forest. Ropemakers Cottage is very comfy, especially the beds, clean and well equipped with lovely furnishings. Thank you also for all the little extras in the welcome basket, they were much appreciated : )

We thought it was in a great location, and overall the whole place was lovely and relaxing which is what we wanted. it was nice to arrive and have milk and tea, coffee and breakfast options all there. It saved needing to go to the store as soon as we got there. It was nicely presented and very cosy with the right cottage feel to it. The kitchen was pretty well equipped. Location wise to a store, or to travel to other places like Sherwood Forest etc. it was great a few minutes in the car, it can even be walked via the nature reserve we found.
The bed mattress was not good. We sleep on a high end mattress at home and though don’t expect this when we go away the mattress was not good. It sank where people have slept and then had a bulge in the middle, after a few days our backs hurt. Items in the kitchen were not clean with dirty glasses in the cupboard we had to wash. There was black mold in the shower from the shower hose needing to be replaced as it’s spraying water up on the ceiling. The bath was also not clean so we had to do that just to have a bath after a long day hiking. Bathroom lighting is also questionable, the light near the shower if water hit it would be a danger and really should be looked into being replaced with a sealed unit with IP65 rating when it comes to spotlights. Parking out front was not an option due to it making it hard for the drive way of a neighbour. There is parking over the road and round the back near the church but that’s not very secure, but all seemed fine.
