So, where do I start. This place is an absolute hidden gem, the location is great and the views (WAW).
The accommodation - clean, good quality, enough space easily for 3 people.
The pub - fantastic place, all the locals aren’t afraid to have a conversation and the atmosphere is good.
The landlord and land lady are absolute stars. The personal touches like sending someone to our cottage to see if we wanted food before they shut is not something you get nowadays.
The food is home cooked and the portions are more than ample.
All in all this place is without doubt one of the best little stays we have ever had.
One thing that did maybe not go as advertised was the karaoke. From the landlady to landlord to their son and his friend, blimey it was being at a concert. Some very good voices and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

The location and views were amazing.
The cottage was clean and the beds comfortable.
We had a meal in the pub which was nice.
Enjoyed two nights.
The shower not powerful enough.
Mattresses and pillows need replacing.
There were a couple of stains on my bedding.
Need larger cups for hot drinks rather then tiny coffee cups.
No glasses for cold drinks.
Carpet in bed area needs replacing.
The grounds and outside of the hotel very tired and needs a good tidy up.

The cottage was perfect for me especially the walk-in shower and easy access
No decent light by the bed for reading, I like a big mug of tea in the morning so a cup and saucer is a pain

We liked that it was dog friendly with no signs telling us to keep her off the furniture. We liked the provision of a little fridge so that we could keep some fresh milk for our brews. We like that the hotel/pub wasn't noisy at night and that we could've gone over there with the dog if we wanted to. Plenty of outside seating around the hotel/pub. We liked the spacious shower. Asda was only a 5 minute drive away. The TV had a good signal. A lot of space on the car park.
We enjoyed exploring the area with everything only a short drive away. Morecambe, Lancaster, Half Moon Bay at Heysham (great for the dog), Glasson Dock (The Quayside cafe has great food and is very dog friendly), Hest Bank (good view). We visited every dog friendly beach in the area so she had a great time chasing her ball.
The only window looks out onto the car park with the hotel opposite and River Lune in the background. Also it's a high window so you can't see out of it whilst seated. So when it rained in the evening we were limited to watching tv. We could've gone over to the hotel, which was also dog friendly, but our dog isn't always friendly to other dogs so we keep her on a lead and often muzzled in public but there was a lovely dog roaming free so we felt restricted. Not their fault. The photographs on the site are very accurate so I should've looked more carefully. The word 'cottage' raises expectations.
The mattress wasn't great despite having a thick mattress topper and the bed creaked. No wifi but my fault for not ticking free wifi in the filters. There would've been wifi in the hotel/pub. I wished my hairdryer had a longer cord to reach the mirror.
We don't eat meat and there wasn't much for vegetarians on the menu, and we didn't find out until later about the seniors discount for over 60s. We eat fish so had a meal on the first evening but then went to Rita's Cafe every morning with the dog for a great veggie breakfast.
