About this house rental

Nestled in Lakeside, this lovely house for $296 per night is a great option for your next break. Whispering Pines is the perfect private retreat with a Home PLUS a Guest House under soaring pine trees. The property is fully fenced and once you shut the gate, you will feel as if you are transported into the secluded coastal Oregon forest away from it all. The home feels tucked away, private and tranquil among the pines, yet close to the conveniences of town. Natural light fills the home from its many windows with views of the sky and treetops. Any time of year, you’ll catch glimpses of the sunny blue sky, the rain drops or treetops gently swaying in the wind. Indoor and outdoor spaces converge at a large covered patio and courtyard, with large sliding doors from the living area and master bedroom. Stroll the grounds to see the little decorative treasures scattered throughout the garden. You may see the wildlife and timid deer too. The layout of the property and its many windows make it easy to keep an eye on the kids from every room in the home. Book the tiny home next door (Tiny Pines, see separate listing) so more friends and family can join you! With each booking, Whispering Pines offers two separate living spaces on the property. The main house lower level has a master bedroom with queen bed, an ensuite half-bath and laundry, a kitchen, dining table, desk, living room fireplace and full main bath with both a shower and a clawfoot soaking tub. The upstairs loft has two single beds (that can easily be moved to make one big bed), a large sofa and a desk overlooking the main living area. There separate guesthouse that offers a full bath (shower) and queen bed with views of the tree tops and courtyard. The guesthouse has a second story entrance only, which can be accessed via the stairs inside the main house through the deck, or using the exterior stairs (see photos). The spacious upper wooden deck with outdoor bench adjoins the two spaces and is a perfect spot to relax overlooking the property among the treetops and twinkling lights. This versatile layout offers a secondary, separate space for friends, teens or extended family to come along and enjoy the Coast with you. Or your teens will love the independence and privacy of the guesthouse. Gather around the courtyard, firepit or kitchen - and after a long day, turn in for the night to your own private spaces. Your booking also includes access to the hobby room, where currently we store our outdoor furniture and other items like a cooler, life vests, fishing poles. There is also a fish cleaning station for guest use. There is a universal EV charging plug (Level 2, 200V, 50Amp) for charging electric vehicles. Look for the fish hanging on the light fixture at the front of the house that faces the driveway. The fish has the letters"EV" on it with a purple arrow pointing toward the EV plug. The plug is mounted on the wall facing the propane tank, in the box marked with the blue letters "EV" as shown in the photos. No cords or adapters are provided. High-speed WiFi 400Mbps and three separate work spaces (desks). Each desk has a view! TV Streaming is available using the Roku guest account to access your own favorite accounts like Netflix and Hulu. A DVD player and ton of DVD’s for a movie night await. Don’t forget to enjoy the one-of-a-kind staircase hand painted by children that grew up here, a lasting symbol of the love and care that was put into creating this special home! Be advised there is one step to get to the main door. There are also interior stairs to access the second story loft and exterior stairs to access the upper deck and guest house entrance. Leaves and pine needles and wet weather can make the deck slippery. Use caution! Welcome to the Southern Oregon Adventure Coast, where the land meets the bay, the lakes and sea, among majestic coastal sand dunes. A recreational paradise! Bring your own boat, kayaks, fishing poles or ATV/UTVs to hit the sand on the untamed dunes and experience the lakes, streams and rivers that converge here. Visit the nearby marina for boat rentals or Spinreel Dune Rentals & Tours to hit the sand and winding trails to the ocean! Nearby lake, river and stream fishing, boating, hiking, clam digging, crabbing, surfing, and riding ATV’s are just a few ways to enjoy the outdoors here. ATV dune access right from this property! Rental crab rings are available at many RV parks, other lodging facilities, and tackle and marine supply stores. Minutes to boat rentals, kayak and boat launches, restaurants, gas station and grocery store. The property is fully fenced, allowing for privacy. We prefer the front gate remain closed to keep the deer and wildlife from grazing on the plantings that make property so secluded and special. Especially overnight and when leaving or staying for extended periods. Generally speaking, we have a long gated driveway. There is room for ATVs and most open trailers within our private parking area just inside the gate. The driveway is 60 feet deep to the gate. It can be a little challenging to navigate trailers as the gate is 11 feet wide and the driveway is bordered by large trees. Trailers must be backed in or backed out. There is a utility pole on the street as well. There is no room to turn vehicles around on the property. There is room for two trucks side by side in width without trailers. We have accommodated as many as 5 cars at one time. We have also seen two trucks side by side with open trailers attached. The limiting factor is the width of the driveway, but it’s doable. There is street parking, but it is limited because this property is on a cul-de-sac. Lakeside is the only city on the Oregon Coast with city-wide dune access! From this property, you can ride your ATV directly to the ATV route (to the dunes!) or into the town of Lakeside! Check in, unload your gear and ride your ATVs and SXS to Lakeside's restaurants, friendly coffee stops, marina and grocery store. Grab a snack or coffee - then zoom off to the dunes! The ATV route includes access to Lakeside food spots, friendly coffee stops, the marina and grocery store. Grab a bite or coffee - then zoom off to the dunes on your ATV right from town! This was such a perfect setting for our vacation. Close to the dunes, where we were riding ATVs, secluded by trees for privacy and the right amount of space for the five guests in our group. The space is thoughtfully planned out and the courtyard was just a perfect way to end the evening with the stars overhead and a little fire pit. This was our first time to this area and it was a win so for sure we’ll be back. Plenty of house supplies, we wanted for nothing and the owner was awesome. Just a quick question and she was promptly responsive and pleasant! Thank you for sharing your beautiful beach house with us!

We stayed 6 nights at this well-stocked, attractive home in Lakeside. Because our days were spent fishing, crabbing, clamming and sightseeing, we fixed most dinners there. We had everything we needed, and more. A grocery store is about 5 minutes away. If you are in Reedsport, we recommend lunch at the Schooner Cafe and dinner at Big Fish. (The huckleberry salmon at Big Fish was amazing!) We especially appreciated the washer and dryer, the storage room for all our fishing gear and ice chests, the excellent BBQ grill, and the fire pit. The beds were comfortable, everything was super clean, the wifi was strong. The house is definitely the nicest in the neighborhood. The downside for us were the neighbor's barking dogs right next door. Parking was tight for two vehicles and a small bass boat, but we managed fine. Overall we give this place a 5-star rating and would return!

This area around reedsport -coos bay is kind of highly underrated. The beaches are amazing and most people just want to ride their ATVs in the dunes, so the beaches are pretty much empty. Surprisingly you can find pretty good food here too. Lakeshore lodge has amazing breakfast. This place is really nice and feels kind of a bit out of place in the sense that it is way too nice. Only stayed 3 days but wished I had booked it longer: we didn't want to leave. Very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Kids loved the place and it is really well decorated. Huge collection of DVDs and super cozy living room + kitchen: a gem.
