Nestled in Crystal Lake, this lovely cabin for $199 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. The Schubery sits on the south shore of Crystal Lake, shaded by the bluff behind. Across the road from the home is 200' of private waterfront with a small sandy beach, firepit, and sandbox area. Enjoy some of the best views of the Lake from inside the home or outside on the spacious deck. Stored in the walk-out basement, you'll find a canoe for a spontaneous trip around the lake. Or, grab the bikes and take a ride down to the Crystal View Cafe for a tasty treat! Wood for the firepit is also stored in here to keep it dry for the emergency marshmallow roast. This unique tri-level home offers a large floor plan for guests. From the walkout basement, you will take the steps to the first level. At the top of the stairs, you will find the full bathroom with a space heater to take the chill off on a cold morning. To the left, you’ll find the first two bedrooms, one with a twin over twin bunk bed and the other with a full bed. The second level is the great room, the main living area. This room offers the best view of the lake from the inside. Large windows and sliding glass doors span the front of the cottage. Open the sliders and let in the amazing lake breeze! For the warmer days, the row of windows above the kitchen offers a natural cooling system. The open floor plan has a spacious kitchen overlooking the living and dining areas. The living area offers two sofas and a rocking chair. Sit back and relax while watching tv or enjoying a fire in the woodstove. Off the main living area, you will find a wrap-around deck with plenty of seating. The views from this deck are some of the best you will find on the lake. The deck itself has open railings so make sure to monitor little ones when enjoying the space. Up the stairs, to the third level, you will find another full bath and two more bedrooms. The larger room with a queen bed offers a view of the lake. The smaller room with a twin over twin bunk bed has a loft with a ¾ mattress. Across the street, you'll find 200' of waterfront with a sandy beach area and a 90' dock. A small sandbox for the little ones is a short distance from the water for a little added playspace and safety. With a long dock, the Schrubery is great for boats, too! Don’t forget to bring your mooring system. Things to know There is a canoe and two adult bikes available. *Please keep in mind that the loft ladder is narrow and works better for older children or teens. This property is managed by Vacasa Michigan LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Dock details: Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Great location. Poor maintenance. Trash was overflowing when we arrived. Food was left in the fridge and freezer from the last renters, so it was never cleaned out. Chairs by the lake were broken. We notified management and they said someone local would reach out, but nobody ever did.

On our check-in day, while traveling to Crystal Lake, I had messages that we would not be able to rent the cottage because the cleaning company was short staffed. They did end up getting us clean linens and let us in, also refunded the cleaning fee. The Shrubbery on Crystal Lake is in such disrepair it is dangerous. We found many things that were inexcusable for a rental property. One sliding door didn't work at all. The other sliding door the screen was broken. Although we tried to fix it numerous times, it was beyond repair. One of the bedroom windows was completely not functioning. You could have the window open but only when the screen was out. Then the screen was put in and the window practically fell out. We discovered screws sticking out of the bedposts in a bedroom-my 2 year old grandson discovered those-OMG! The place looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned all summer. The stove was so old that you couldn't read any of the dials, and filthy. This company has no business renting this property until it is cleaned up and fixed. I communicated with Vacasa about the issues and told them if they sent me pictures of these things fixed I wouldn't post this review. That didn't happen. They did however provide a 10% discount for my troubles, but I've seen no evidence of repairs. It is a cute cottage with great potential and a fabulous deck and view! I have rented multiple cottages on South Shore over the years and this is a stand-out poor experience.

Close to several towns making it very convenient to get around. House was large enough for everyone, however the cleanliness was awful. Cobwebs all over and the screens wer so dirty! This needs a good deep cleaning!

Everything was just as we expected. We had a wonderful stay. Quiet neighborhood, nice sunsets and sunrises by the dock. Evenings around the fire and beautiful views from the cottage of the lake. The cottage was clean, beds comfortable. We will definitely be back again soon.

Great location near Frankfort with plenty of opportunities to shop, eat, swim and explore. The house was very worn and the yard is not maintained - at all. I’d stay in the area again but not the house.
