The location is fantastic. Shop/ cafe, restaurant/pub, and beach within very easy walk. Many towns, attractions and places to visit within easy drive, and very good public transport connections to enable all types of visitor to visit/stay in the house. The house was lovely, spacious, well equipped, very comfortable. It was clean but not perfectly so. The kitchen and bathroom areas were very clean where you'd expect, the bedrooms were clean and fresh linen and towels provided.... but bedroom mirrors were dusty and there were many cobwebs around the house, and a number of dead flies, otherwise it would have been a perfect score for cleanliness. The house was warm and comfortable and a basket of logs were provided with the fire set up if required, but we didn't need to use them. The garden was a lovely space and seemed well equipped but we were out a lot and the weather was cooler at the beginning and end of the day, so we didn't use it much. Very grateful the property allowed our small (well behaved) dog to join us. We really valued the filter water tap in the downstairs bathroom for filling our drinks bottles. Very useful to have the 2nd shower room! Parking spaces very appreciated too. I would recommend the listing photos be a little updated as the furniture has changed in the living room and the newer furniture is more attractive than the current photos. Also, I wondered if the configuration of beds might be of value to change the 2nd double to a zip/link style that might be amended to twin/double depending on party size?

The cleanliness could have been a little better - dead flies, and dust/cobwebs but I assume this was because it's not in steady use yet in the season? We noticed at night time when the house was dark, a light appeared to be on in the attic as you could see it round the edges of the hatch. Didn't want to open it or contact manager at unsocial time so waited until next day to do so. She was already aware, and said owner also aware, but made no effort to come and switch off.... disconcerting as they had a smart meter showing electricity use, and felt this obviously impacted...also concerned why you would leave a light on up there knowingly? ..... seemed strange. There was a broken/dangerous lamp in the bedroom that flickered/shorted constantly when we tried to use it, so I left it unplugged and a note to explain...it needs to be removed. A microwave might be helpful. The cooker was fine but there was an oven that I wasn't familiar with so didn't use. For a quick reheat, most homes do have microwaves these days. The biggest issue though (well intended I'm sure) ,was on departure. The info in the house says to please leave promptly at 10am as manager/cleaner requires access to service property - understandable. But she arrived 10-15 minutes earlier than 10am just as we were finally toileting (long journey home) and trying to check all belongings were loaded into the car etc... caught us on the hop, and also as lovely as it was to chat with her (she was lovely), it was a distraction just at the time we didn't need... a little unnecessary and I worried all the way home that we might have left something (significant teddy?? etc) behind... Should really have waited until the 10am mark and then knocked the door/arrived I felt as our booking permitted occupation until then. The only other concern is the only reviews showing on the booking.com page listing I could see seemed to be aged and now give idea of most current visitors.
