We spent one night in this incredible location and wish we had been able to spend two to fully enjoy the beautiful relaxing environment and beach facilities. The cabins are well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay - incredible views and excellent facilities. As other reviews have noted, some cabins have slightly better views than others and there is a 15-minute (flat sandy) walk from the bus, but if you pack light, no problem. Staff were friendly and helpful.
This is less a critique of the Ecohabs and more a note about the park in general. Time and space within the park work differently! Distances are given in time and miscommunications about specific locations are easy to make (especially if you don't speak good Spanish), but as long as you are prepared to walk a bit extra sometimes, it's just beautiful. P.S. Definitely use El Zaino entrance not Calabazo - we did it so you don't have to.

* The location is absolutely the highlight. You’re literally staying in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by nature, with the Caribbean just beyond the trees. It feels incredibly peaceful and unique.
* The staff were excellent. Everyone was warm, courteous, and always willing to help. They gave great recommendations and even carried my large suitcase all the way to my Ecohab and back at checkout.
* The Ecohabs themselves are beautiful. Each one has a private balcony with a hammock underneath, where you can relax while looking out over the jungle and the ocean. It was one of the most peaceful places I stayed during my trip.
* The restaurant was very good. The menu had plenty of choices, the food was delicious, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff created a great atmosphere.
* The complimentary jacuzzi was a wonderful bonus. The views from there are spectacular and made for a very relaxing experience. Although I personally found the water a little cold, I still really enjoyed spending time there.
* Although you’re surrounded by nature with plenty of birds, butterflies and lizards outside, I was impressed that I didn’t find a single bug or lizard inside my room during my stay.
* The toilet in my Ecohab had very low flushing pressure. The staff tried to fix it after I reported it, but unfortunately the issue wasn’t fully resolved during my stay.
* The restaurant is quite expensive. That said, I understand it’s a remote property inside a national park, so higher prices are probably unavoidable.
* If you’re staying in one of the higher-numbered Ecohabs (I stayed in Ecohab 10), be prepared to climb quite a few stairs. It took a couple of minutes to reach my room. It wasn’t an issue for me, and the paths are well lit at night, but it’s worth knowing if you have mobility concerns.
