A wonderful cheerful welcone from Fleur thank you , particularly given that it was gone midnight ! William kept in contact with me by text . Road works / closures meant I had only done 100 miles in just over three hours on my journey from Cornwall to home . I decided to find overnight accommodation and continue my journey the next day. What a wonderful find the Manor House truly is ! An historic home with medieval beginnings - be sure to see the grand Banqueting Hall , it's truly amazing . A perfect place for a fabulous wedding reception . Fleur is happy to give a guided tour , full of historic facts about the area too . Cosy comfortable lounges looked inviting , though I was so tired I went straight to bed . I discovered the fabulous bathroom in the morning - just across the hallway from my room . On each landing g is a huge selection of jams , chutneys and jellies - all made by the lady of the house, I chose a few to take home - they were delicious ! Don't miss out when you stay. Breakfast was served in the conservatory overlooking the garden , a choice of continental offerings or a full cooked breakfast set me up for the day . A pretty sunny courtyard is the perfect setting for afternoon teas, which I'll try next time 😋!Fleur gave me a potted history of the lovely village, then I set off for a leisurely drive home , via an interesting and enjoyable visit to Barrington Court , a nearby National Trust property . The village is so pretty , 'picture postcard' with sweet cottages with lovely gardens . So, all in all, The Manor House was a serendipitous find , many thanks Fleur 😊.
A little bedside lamp in my room would have been handy .
