We booked the hotel as attending a family wedding in the town. Easy to make the reservation via booking.com.
The hotel is located in the centre ideal location. A parking bay is available to drop off luggage. Parking is free at a local public car park. We had no actual issue finding a parking space, but they were very limited as there was a festival on in the town the weekend of our stay. On a normal day it should be okay to find a parking space
Check in was straight forward. We had booked a suite. If you have mobility issues certain suites might not be appropriate as there are stairs.
We booked a suite. It was large with sofa, coffee table, writing desk, separate dressing room, bathroom and large bed (two single mattresses). The light and power switches are in interesting puzzle! There is a small fridge and safe in a cupboard. It was clean.
This is a personal choice we found the beds comfortable and good quality bed linen.
Breakfast is available and is a buffet style with cereals, fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, cooked eggs and bread. They have oat milk available. Plenty of choice which was constantly topped up so fresh.
The Italian restaurant is part of the hotel is certainly worth trying of an evening. Good service and good food.
The staff were friendly and acknowledge us. The staff are flexible and are able to perform a variety of roles which helps with customer service. We asked for more pillows and these were provided within a few minutes. The room was cleaned daily.
Would we stay here again? Certainly, but not in the summer.

Although September when we stayed the air conditioning is ineffective. Family who were also staying in other rooms commented on how ineffective the air conditioning was. When we arrived there was a floor fan in the room. So it’s likely known that the air con is not effective We couldn’t keep the windows open as there was a festival on in the town that weekend and it was very noisy with the music. We had not been pre-warned by the hotel that this was taking place.
The bathroom and toilet are combined, it’s a design flaw that they were not separated as there is plenty of room in the suite to do this. Towels were thin and not good quality. But toiletries were good.
There were a few other slight issues but they didn’t impact on our stay.
