Excellent house with everything you need for a fantastic stay
No prior warning that you need to bring your own logs for the hot tub or towels

The house is beautiful, spacious and sits in a quiet rural setting. The hot tub, when we had purchased the wood, is amazing. If you fuel it with a plentiful supply of wood, it will heat to 40 degrees in 1.5 hrs, not 3 hrs as detailed in welcome pack. I liked the fact that you have to fill it yourself as then you know the water is clean. Just remember to empty it for the next guests. Be careful though as it can get very hot and you cant regulate the heat coming from the burner. There are two family areas in the house, one of which the children turned into their games room 😆 and the other where the adults hung out. This worked really well.
The kitchen area would benefit from some extra comfortable seating as you can only get 4/5 adults on the corner sofa. The numerous downlighters in the kitchen do dim, but lamps would be a nice touch to make this area extra cozy to go with the lovely curtains and blinds in the room.
All in all, Strathclaggan is a beautiful house in a country side setting, and a few small extra touches, would have made it absolutely perfect 😘. Thanks very much to the hosts who allowed us to share their beautiful home.
We booked the property through booking.com and were not alerted to the fact that wood for the hot tub is NOT supplied until 4pm when we received the welcome message from the owners, by which time we had arrived at the property and didnt want to venture back out again after our long drive and the house being in a rural location. This was disappointing as it meant the children lost an evening in the hot tub. Also, my advice would be to go prepared!!! There is NO basic supplies provided even though the welcome message advises there is. ie. No Dish washing tablets, soap powder, tea and coffee except a few expresso pods. No welcome pack and the property is rural so good idea to be organised. There is a huge ensuite bedroom, but only a double bed which was slightly disappointing?
