This place is amazing, and the host is lovely and a wonderful storyteller! The house is massive and newly renovated. There are two large common lounge spaces, a food zone, a kitchen, a huge bathing room, and bathrooms on each floor. There are Japanese and western style rooms. Everything is clean and organized.
My room was perfect for one person. The bed was comfortable, WiFi and air conditioning worked well, mini fridge and outlets were available. Pajamas and towels were free to use.
No meals but you can borrow an electric bike to ride to the convenience store or supermarket. There’s also a famous udon place next door. There are frozen meals available for purchase.
The owner’s mother even mended rips in my Hakui, and we had a long conversation about the pilgrimage and Osettai culture.
