The apartment (number B2) was impeccably clean and roomy for our family of 4 adults with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms, one en-suite in the primary bedroom. Our two kids shared the other bedroom with two twin beds. The hosts kindly supplied a bottle of wine and Azorean cookies on arrival. The location was A+ and walking distance to the marina and downtown restaurants. The Parque Atlantico mall with the gigantic Continente supermarket was a 5 min drive away. The kitchen was fully equipped with all major appliances in addition to dishware/utensils, paper and cloth towels, a coffee pod machine, toaster, and electric kettle for hot water. Dish soap, dishwasher tablets, and detergent for the washer/dryer machine were also supplied. They even provided beach towels for use at the Furnas thermal pools and a large drying rack and clothespins for wet clothing. We liked that there was an assigned garage parking space that was directly accessible to the unit by elevator - protected from the rain and no need to hunt for parking for our rental car. There was also a balcony with a table and chairs although we didn't use it. The unit faces a courtyard and is very quiet.
When we arrived, we noticed a strong floral freshener smell that permeated the apartment. We pinpointed the source of the smell to toilet rim hangers in both bathrooms that contained fragrance crystals that cleaned the bowl with each flush. We are particularly sensitive to fragrances, so this may not bother others. Also, the garage space and parking lot passageways are very tight (in typical European style), and we had to take extra care not to bump our rental car.

Very clean and spacious for a family of 5. Another family we traveled with rented the apartment next door. Being so close yet having our own space was enjoyable. Loved how beach towels /hot spring towels were available. Excellent location! Also loved how special Azores treats were left for us, what a special touch!
