The kitchen is large enough for multiple cooks and equipped to enhance the best chefs in the family featuring lots of cabinet space with multiple pantries, two oven/microwave combos, two dishwashers, two 36" cooktops with hoods, and two sinks with disposals, as well as a commercial size refrigerator and freezer. A major remodel was completed in 2022 including the addition of 6 bedrooms, 5 ½ baths, and Rec Room. Upgrades to interior finishes include a Kitchen renovation and new luxury plank flooring in the Great Room. Exterior upgrades include new paint, the addition of a second hot tub and expanded front deck. Whalehead Beach is a popular oceanside subdivision with large half acre lots giving the feeling of spaciousness that vacationers love. We had a good experience. Really liked the top floor area. The property was not very clean when we arrived. Also we were missing a shower curtain in the top master bedroom. After several attempts to have one delivered from the rental company, we had to purchase one.

The property was not kept up and was not clean. Anyone who did not wear shoes had black feet. Kids had to have their feet washed and made to wear shoes indoors ...and this was initially upon arriving. Dishes and cookwear had crumbs allover and inside cupboards. Had to prewash anything we wanted to use. Lacked enough pots and pans. No slow cooker. Coffeepot felt like someone poured grease in it. Stove light half hanging. Smoke alarms went off 2 nights in a row throughout the night, scaring the kids and waking everyone up. Upon speaking to maintenance, we were told to take batteries out until they could resolve the issue. Batteries were removed from multiple alarms and it didn't even resolve the issue and continued to go off in the middle if the night. Apparently upon our arrival, my husband said they were working on the alarms, so this was already an issue before we even got there. Pool had green algae in it upon our arrival. Husband had to call to have it treated. This was beyond upsetting considering the price we paid to stay there. We have used other companies on 3 other prior trips to outerbanks and had wonderful, clean and well stocked facilities for half the cost. The site states there is a game room, when there isn't one. All it is is a tv and couch with puzzles on 1st floor. The other places we stayed had true game rooms with Foosball table, pool table. Broken bikes, strollers and junk left on property under outdoor steps. Terribly managed!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was lively and well located within 23 min of each access. The house could use some area rugs to dampen the sound in a very large main area and some more lounge seating as it accommodates a lot of people. Great dining table and kitchen. Could use some larger pots pans for cooking for large crowds. House was not completely cleaned upon arrival and beach realty did not respond to requests to complete cleaning. We had some trouble with communication with beach realty regarding propane refill and some appliance difficulties. Overall though we had a great stay.

This one is different - beautifully renovated in all gray, blues and white. No musty small or old carpets. I highly recommend this house. Also, so many bed- and bathrooms for a large family or group of friends. Efficient use of space. Great management company and perfect location. Everyone in our group of 20 were very happy!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the house, which was perfect for my group's needs. The air conditioning worked perfectly which was my main concern. However it was clear that the owner of the house was unclear about his responsibilities to a renter. The rental company was unable to clear every issue during the week. OWNER'S STUFF IN HOUSE: For example, there was a huge pile of stuff in the main entryway: washer hoses, boxes of equipment, a stack of bed pillows, some small furniture. Put it in a storage unit or a closet: it was unsightly at best, and dangerous from a liability perspective at worst. I notified Beach Realty upon arrival, it was still there upon departure.POOL: The pool pump was overwhelmed by a storm on Tuesday. It stopped working. According to the pool company that was sent out by Beach Realty Thursday, the owner had not housed the pump properly to prevent flooding. The pump issue kept us from using the pool for two days. In those two days, the pool turned green and grew large patches of algae. Beach Realty responded to my calls by saying they had a third party handling pools and they could get to it as soon as they could - which was two days. This could have been avoided from the beginning with a cover for the pump.FREEZER: The main kitchen fridge ice maker was not working upon Saturday arrival. Maintenance came out Monday afternoon, found that the water line was frozen, and when he attempted a fix, the water line sprayed all over the kitchen. The freezer and ice maker was never fixed during our stay.Maintenance used all the white guest towels from the top floor bedroom, leaving my guests in that room with no towels. It took a lot of my time to get housekeeping to drop off replacement towels - I was told "maintenance doesn't talk to housekeeping. We would all have to be cross trained."There was a serious lack of communication from Beach Realty about the many issues. There was no concierge service for a house billed as a luxury re
