Gurung Homestay in Lebong, Darjeeling is one of those rare places that truly feel like home. Just 8 km away from the busy streets of Darjeeling town, it offers a peaceful escape surrounded by natural beauty. The hosts and their entire family are incredibly kind, warm, and helpful. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like part of their home. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the food is delicious, homemade with love. The nearby tea farms are perfect for a quiet walk, and if you're up for exploring, they also rent scooters at very reasonable rates. The Wi-Fi is good, the surroundings are calm, and the neighbors are just as friendly. What touched me most was being blessed with a traditional Nepali khada before leaving—it was truly heartwarming. It was a nice stay leisurely spent time. The owners were very courteous and the food was extremely delicious..... home cooked meals. You could sit back and view the mountain..... pure bliss to eyes. People visiting home stay should understand that it's a really a Home stay and not hotels. The owner Navinji and his wife shared a great evening with karaoke to us. So nice people and caring that we were away from home. Their place is away from the noisy and hustle bustle of the town. Rooms were small and cosy which is ideal for couples as you are in winter land and need to stay together ❤️

They need to improve on bathroom toiletries, small things like a shampoo sachets and the approach road should be made more oldies friendly.

A home away from home... I am so so happy my partner and I chose to stay here, it was honestly one of the lovliest experiences. The family are amazing, and go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met, you are safe, comfortable and happy. The food is incredible, so fresh and full of flavor and love, Mum is the best chef 👩‍🍳 Nehal the son is a legend, he put so much energy into making beautiful moments and memories for us, not to mention all of the practical advice for getting around. To top it all off, it was so affordable for us, making it a brilliant budget option for fellow young travellers. Don't let the distance from town deter you! It's only a short share jeep ride that is 30rs per head to get to Chauk Bazaar! This place is beautiful, I will miss this family because they felt like my own by the end of our week-long stay ❤️
