Location was great for walk into Ambleside. Parking for 1 car also good. Shame the bed never split into 2 singles but other than that it was perfect for a short break.

The cottage was lovely and will definitely stay again at some point, had everything that we needed and such close proximity to the town
Was a little warm and bedroom could do with some fans as being a stone building it holds the heat and trying to sleep was a bit difficult, and the sharp knife could do with some sharping, also upright arriving the keys weren’t left in the lock box and had to wait around for a new key to be brought to us

A cosy, comfortable and clean cottage with lots of character and in an ideal, peaceful location with just a ten minute walk to the shops and pubs in Ambleside. A great base for lovely walks and rambles around Ambleside and for exploring wider afield in the Lakes. A safe, small garden area for our dog to roam around without escaping. The cottage had everything we could need and very comfortable beds.

Location was good for centre of Ambleside via short walk. One of the beds had a lovely firm mattress. Larger than average cottage with quiet position.
I spoke with Lakelovers rep about some problems by telephone. The boiler failed to start one day, cold water and no heat.
No welcome wallet with usual helpful information and explanations for cottage equipment use and local facilities etc. Had no TV, till Engineer came to fix heating and set TV up.
Kitchen electrical equipment very tired. No extractor fan in kitchen! Fridge door temperamental, wouldn't shut sometimes.
There was a brand new second fridge in the living room, Why??? No Explanations! Dishwasher controls writing on front face very old, had disappeared , worn away. Pressed buttons till got it to work.
First bedroom has very soft mattress, no good at all. No hooks, chairs etc in bedrooms for hanging/placing clothes. ( one steel rack thing in one room)
