This fabulous custom home sits right on the sand in quiet Tierra del Mar, with panoramic ocean views and a path to the beach right out the door. Loved the location of this beach house - the beach is pretty private and low-key without crowds. The views from the house are fabulous! We traveled with another couple, and while the bed upstairs was comfortable, unfortunately the queen bed in the basement was not - it pulls you into the middle. The upstairs furniture is nice looking but you really sink down into the couches. The chairs in front of the window are nice for watching the ocean. The kitchen is large and well stocked with dishes, but knives are very dull. We had a chirping smoke detector when we arrived, let the host know - but never received new batteries. They did bring over the trash bags that were missing however. So, while we all loved the location and views of this house, and it was clean (which is super important!), it wasn't as comfortable as we hoped for, and the host communication wasn't great. But overall, I rate it a 4 due to the positives.

Place was perfect for just two of us. A small family could work too. Certainly wouldn’t want to make another couple be in basement though. Hedges blocked view. Strange. Smoke detector in master was taken apart, the part needing a new battery was in a basket in the laundry being room. Living room had a mission dollar view! But, no coffee table, no tv. A giant picnic table blocking access to kitchen but provides lots of seating if u need it. The gas fireplace was nice. Ok, the furniture is the most hodge podge situation I’ve ever seen. Randomly placed, nothing matches. Pic on wall all dinky and weirdly placed as afterthoughts. Master bedding so thin, glad we brought a blanket. Bed was fine, pillows awful. Kitchen well stocked, could use a bigger cutting board and knives that actually cut. I’ve maker wasn’t working when we got there but my husband fixed it. Bathroom had one whole towel in it. We had to search the house for another. The shower curtain fell completely down the first time we went to shower. I believe we paid for the view and close access. The lack of flow of decor was hard on the eyes honestly. Amazon has inexpensive nice looking furniture that could be cohesive. I’m sure the summer is great. Oh yeah I’d rip all the carpet out! There is sand at the beach!!!

This is an oceanfront property, so location is great. Overall, the house was clean, not cluttered. The kitchen has has enough utensils, cookware, dishes and etc. However, this is a big house so most likely people are traveling with family; body wash, shampoo provided, wouldn’t be enough for more than 2 adults showering every day. I texted to ask about more body wash, I was told we’d have to purchase it. So bring your own. No tissue, 1 garbage bag per day, laundry detergent not enough. In short, if you have kids/ family with you, bring your own supplies. Would I stay there again? Yes, I would, but I’ll know in advance what I need to bring. The closest grocery store is about 20 - 25 mins drive.
