Love the location and the hotel. Our room was large, but backed up to an alley that was very loud early every morning. Our location in the hotel could have been better and I feel there were plenty of rooms available for them to have placed us. Otherwise, service was fantastic, restaurants were great and the beds and pillows were very comfortable

Had an amazing stay at The Betsy with my sister last weekend. The hotel staff were friendly, room was nice and clean, the atmosphere was relaxing. The beach is across Ocean Drive with lounge and towel service. The water was too choppy to swim on our first day but that’s ok because we came back to the hotel and enjoyed a dip at the roof top pool while sipping a cocktail.

Rooms comfy and quiet! Free breakfast was delicious! Rooftop pool and bar was gray and chairs were available all three times we went. Lobby bar with free music was a nice touch!

The Betsy was a great place to stay. Very well located within the busy art deco district, but very quiet and refined as well. No criticisms whatsoever.

We stayed 5 nights at the Betsy as a family of 3 (with a 16 month old). Overall we had a lovely stay and glad we chose the Betsy.
The location is great, next to the beach, opposite the park and near Lincoln Road, Española way and on Ocean drive. You’ve lots of eateries, coffee shops and shops around the corner.
The hotel itself, whilst a little tired around the edges (but it’s an historic building) is well maintained. There’s a variety of places to hang out, the bustling bar/lobby, quieter courtyard, cafe area and library. There’s a lovely rooftop pool (and courtyard pool) and other rooftop seating areas. We had the American breakfast each morning at the LT Steakhouse, which was amazing and great quality. The staff there were all very friendly and attentive and really made our stay, and made us feel special. They even gifted our daughter a Betsy soft toy, which was very sweet. We also ate at the restaurant (outside) one evening, which was nice.
We stayed in a classic king suite, which suited us well as it had a separate seating area so we could put our daughter to sleep in the bedroom without having to sit quietly in the dark. The room is well stocked with bottled water, lovely Malin + Goetz toiletries and a coffee machine. There was also a white noise machine (which we only realised on the last day), which is handy with a child. The hotel was tidy but we found the room wasn’t hoovered during our stay (a crawling toddler easily attracts dust).

Beautiful boutique hotel. Bar and restaurant very good but expensive. Gratuity added to everything including just drinks. But all bartenders were very personable and kind. Actually, all staff went above and beyond to make our stay positive and happy. Beautiful art all throughout the hotel. A huge ball suspended in mid air connecting the two buildings. A library in the hotel as well as books everywhere including books in the room. My wife loved that. The rooftop pool could use a little love as tiles were falling off and a lot of bird poop. Not the hotels fault, but the beach had homeless people sleeping throughout. If we were to return to south beach, we would stay there again. But it seems like south beach is not as “nice” as it used to be.

The Betsy felt like a home away from home. It is in the PERFECT location, near all relevant attractions. At the end of each exciting adventure we came home to the Betsy for nightly music, classy but relaxed atmosphere, and food and drinks with new “friends”. Perfect.

I paid $1,300 for a one night stay. Initially the room we were assigned had mold on pictures and the room smelled like mold. The manager Chris was able to re assign us to a suite, which was completely an upgrade from the older section. Once the room was ready, we went in and there was hair on the chair in the living room and a cup and ash tray full of cigarettes and coffee on the balcony. Trash can was not thrown out from previous stay.
I expected a luxury stay and the aforementioned did not reflect that experience.

I enjoyed my stay at the Betsy Hotel. The area felt safe and there was plenty of eateries and shopping close by. Fritz and Zel were amazing! My only complaint was the mattress was very soft and felt sunken in.

I booked my stay at the Betsy based on reviews and the aesthetic of the property. It is an old building. That being said, rooms are tiny! The bed I slept in the first night was uncomfortable and had a dip indentation in it (not comfortable.) I went to the restaurant downstairs for a late lunch, the table was dirty- I had to ask to have the booth seat cleaned and I wasn’t greeted or asked to be helped when I was seated so after a while I eventually left to eat somewhere else.
The next day I woke up and had breakfast downstairs and it was a pleasant experience. I did change rooms to upgrade to a larger room. The sofa in the room is rundown and sagging (old Ikea?) Unfortunately the television in the bedroom did not work as well as the telephone. When asked if something could be done I was told that there wasn’t anyone available to address the problem so I could not watch TV in bed like I like to do. Also, using the one phone that worked in the living area to call to asked for help- was unavailable- the front desk would not answer calls. So I had to walk downstairs to asked for help.
The rooms are decent but becoming run down, there were several hairs in the both bathrooms that I stayed in (gross.)
Unfortunately I do not believe the price of the hotel matched the quality of the accommodations.

I’m baffled by how much the area has declined. Granted, the hotel is still very nice, and the staff as friendly as they come. The area has just declined so bad.. a few things that stand out. We got a balcony suite upgrade that was not with the upgrade since the view was literally an alley. The room was super tiny and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. I’m not one for writing bad reviews.. and generally speaking the hotel was still nice. But we also flew in on what was a surprise storm that left 8” of rain so the pool on the roof was also closed due to damages. Again, it’s been & years since I’ve been here so what a world of difference 8 years makes.

It’s hugely dog friendly and promotes various programs in the arts. Many of the staff, especially in the dining room, are wonderfully helpful. After a week at the Betsy, many were becoming our friends. We will miss them. The included VIP breakfast is a breakfast feast—the fruit bowl and bacon are worth a flight from anywhere. Then there is the rooftop pool and separate wine bar and the first class amenities across the street on Miami Beach. We loved it.

I had high hopes for this property based on the reviews that I read. I am hoping that the events that I experienced are isolated incidents and not the norm for the property. Here are my notes:
1. Upon arrival, we were having trouble getting to the hotel because our GPS took us to a road that was closed. We tried to call the hotel but no one was answering and the vm said that we called them during outside of business hours. How does this happen that you can't get a hold of front desk? We circled around for a few times until we decided to park and walk to the hotel to find out how to access valet and baggage drop off. They gave us instructions on how to do this.
Hotel Request: It would be helpful to provide an email that details parking, valet, and direction to hotel since the road was closed. Getting to the hotel was tricky until you learn how to drive around.
2. Upon arrival, front desk was helpful but we were not notified that they were having phone issues because the lines were always busy.
3. Our room was over $800.00 per night so when we called for room service for our breakfast, I was mortified to discover that they packed our breakfast in boxes and disposable containers. It was terrible eating from take-out boxes.
4. Housekeeping missed replacing our towels and taking the trash out of our room.
Pros: The hotel comp'd our resort fee. The property is really nice but the service was subpar during our stay.

This is a nice boutique hotel with a classy international vibe to it. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating - front desk, hotel manager, bar tenders, cleaning staff etc. On some nights the lobby has live music. We met the entertainers performing on a Saturday night, who turned out to be a family. Incredibly talented and friendly.
The smaller rooms are SMALL, but we chose to upgrade to a larger room with a view of Ocean drive. We were very happy with the upgrade. The rooms are very nicely decorated and more updated/nicer then some of the other hotels on Ocean drive.
We wanted a classy, quiet and convenient hotel - Which is exactly what we got.
Close to everything on South Beach. A short walk or Uber ride and can be anywhere in SB within 10min or less.
The roof top pool was small but quiet and relaxing. The poolside sushi was very good and the bartenders were friendly.
The Beach is literally across the street and the hotel room includes complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrella.
All in all it was a great weekend trip and look forward to staying there again in the future.

I liked the quirky boutique vibe of this hotel. I was told the hotel was full and I couldn’t get my upgrade but when I checked online there were plenty of suites so I got moved and it was to a lovely suite - but it’s a bit of a rabbit warren. I had to walk across a courtyard (in the rain) take a lift up 3 floors, walk the length of the property and catch a lift back to ground to get to the lobby and restaurant - or as I discovered a couple of days later - leave the property through a back gate and walk around the block and come in the front door to get to the lobby. Bar and restaurant staff were largely great, but my room rate included an American breakfast which was juice, eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruit, coffee - and when I asked for just oatmeal or something healthy they said I had to pay for it (even though the cost was far less). Each morning had to go through the same process but eventually got sorted. Great live music, fab art, great yoga teacher, nice pool (although shallow 4ft) and I would return but would be quite clear in terms of which room I got!

In the otherwise hectic and vibrant Miami Beach area, this small 'boutique" style hotel is small, cozy and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast, small but beautiful rooms, great rooftop terrace and pool, and amazing location overall!

This hotel and its staff are amazing. Atmosphere is relaxed and classy. Drinks are great. Room was reallt clean. We are glad that this hotel is located at the end of the Lummus park where it is more quiet. This is the most beautiful hotel we had the chance to stay. Thanks to all staff members for the great service.

I absolutely loved our 4 night stay at The Betsy. The atmosphere was very retro and made you feel like you were stepping back into the 1950s, yet everything was very contemporary at the same time. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The only downside is that we didn’t have tv service the whole entire time but they made up for it by not charging us for any movies we had to order to entertain ourselves while in the room. We’d definitely stay there again.
