The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location is really nice. However the stay wasn’t without issues. The room was nice however it had an ants problem which ended up all over our clothes and us getting bitten. We complained about this multiple times to get resolved and were informed the room had been sprayed however we don’t believe this was the case. Some of the sockets didn’t work however after informing reception this issue was resolved. The pictures are very deceiving as it said there was a private sandy beach however that is next door and open to the public. Spiders had been killed on the walls but not cleaned up. The lighting on the path to the room was bad and hard to see at night. Generally liked the stay but for the price it wasn’t worth it. We did manage to get an incident report created.

I have traveled extensively around Jamaica and the Caribbean. On a recent trip I made the trek to the south coast to stay at Jakes. I’ve heard mixed things for years so was aware it was a roll of the dice. In the interest of time, I’ll condense my experience. When I arrived I was not greeted, waited to check in. They have no help with luggage so I schleped my bags to the furthest reach of the property to an “ocean view villa”. The only view was of a weedy dirt patch, the patio is furnished with dirty rotten out wood furniture. The room sports only 2 lights with a 10 watt bulb making it necessary to use my phone flashlight to move around and unpack. The WiFi and AC did not work. The mosquitos were comparable to no one I’ve ever been and there are literally zero amenities in room. I stay in Rustic boutique hotels often- Jake’s is not rustic it is a dump. I went to the office to inquire about a coffee maker and possibly another light and was told no one was available to help me. I could check back in the morning. In the morning I had made arrangements to check out 3 days early. The manager was defensive and let me know Jake’s is “rustic”, I reached out to the main property manager for a week as did Hotels.com to persue a refund and after 17 attempts have not had acknowledgment or a call back from Colleen the manager. The room condition was poor but the overall service was unforgivable- especially on an island that has some of the warmest people in the world.

A bit disappointing. The rooms are really huts/challets. Pretty day. Showers outside. Not reaaly worth around USD 300 per night Treasure beach is a bit limited/quite. There many better beach areas (with more happening). Its also a nit out of the way. Transport is a bit expensive.
