I LOVED THIS PLACE.... the rooms were roomy and nice... decorated nice... Bed comfortable,,, I=I would so come back. The pricing was reasonable compared to other places in the area...
One of the cutest things was my husband went to get coffee in the morning and he comes back with generous BAGGED BREAKFASTS... so sweet... more then a continental... we had granola bar and yoguart and milk and sweet roll, fruit.... perfect for a weary traveler on the move.. thank you for doing that... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED>>>>

Beds are comfy, breakfast is different and packed for us to be ready for the day, and the neighborhood was quiet at night time! I loved the hospitality! This will be my go to inn when I'm visiting!

We enjoyed this motel. It was basic dining in its amenities. Seems to have been recently updated. It was clean and safe.
The desk staff were very nice, and accommodated us getting an additional room. The sack (grab and go) breakfasts were good (Costco prepackaged items).

Great budget spot off the 101! Snax available evey morning, and varied! Would definitely come on back for some family R and R. Grovery Outlet and walmart on the way into and out of town.

This understated little property ended up being perfect for us. It’s 10 minutes from the beach and uses books as decorations. I felt like I was at home. Thank you!!!

This was an amazing stay. The beds are very comfortable, room is very clean and there is even a gas station in the parking lot. The grab breakfast was nice and came with a breakfast sandwich, banana, orange, pastry, cheese, granola bar and yogurt. Plus coffee and other beverages available as well. I would definitely recommend staying here.

When I checked in, the desk people were so nice and helpful too. I was pleasantly surprised at how large my room was and how very clean it was. The grounds are kept up an it was very conveniently located for me. The continental breakfast was different than I’m used to at other places but that’s not a bad thing. They give you a sack full of goodies that one person can’t eat in one sitting! On top of that they give you a breakfast sandwich too. Best sleep I’ve had in a hotel room in years! I will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience staying here. We arrived later on in the evening and had no issues getting our room. Staff were very friendly and kind. Our stay was for a couple days to do some sightseeing and it was simply perfect.

I was looking for a hotel that wasn't too expensive, and the reviews for Monarch Valley Inn were amazing. I decided to give it a try, and I wasn't disappointed. We had a room with a small balcony facing California Street. It felt very private and nice not to have a room with a window facing the walkway where people were walking by. Ask for one of these rooms if you can. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was lots of hot water in the shower. We had a room with two queen beds which we didn't need but it was all that was available when I made my last minute reservation. One of the beds was pushed against the wall, so if you have two people in that bed, one person won't be able to get up easily. People had mentioned the grab and go breakfast saying it included a granola bar and yogurt. It also included a Babybel cheese, a Svenhards pastry, fig bars, a tangerine, a banana, and we had the choice of either a bean, cheese and rice burrito, breakfast Hot Pocket, or Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich. They don't have a place to eat in the lobby, so you'll have to take the food back to your room. Coffee was available as were instant oatmeal packets and tea bags. The woman working in the mornings, Laura, was delightful to talk with. (I hope her boss sees this.) It was really cold when we got to the room, but the heater worked perfectly and we were cozy and warm very quickly. We will definitely stay here again.

The desk staff are SUPER nice and helpful! The property is next to a gas station, but they put effort into making it stylish. Once inside the room, the decor is cute and comfortable. Breakfast was a goodie bag to grab and go; it was perfect for us. My only complaint is the 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner...we have thick hair and need real conditioner. I would definitely stay again.

We drove all morning, went to visit the university, and just needed a room for the night. The rooms smelled wonderful, they were clean, spacious. The rooms had a coffee maker, a fridge, and microwave. The beds were comfy. It was relatively quiet considering there is a gas station that shares the parking lot! They gave us complimentary bottles of water on arrival and grab and go breakfast bags in the morning. I saw they had flavors to put in your coffee at the front desk. For a quick stay for a family this was perfect!

I enjoyed my stay. It was easy to make the reservation online. I liked the comfortable room, convenient location, and the courteous/professional staff. It was nice to be able to get gas on site and the convenience store made things so much easier. When I come to visit family in the future, I would definitely stay here again.

This was a great small little hotel/motel. Easy parking, very good size room, very clean, everything we were looking for. The best thing about it was the amazing staff/owner. They really made our trip, were so kind to us and especially our little boy!
If we are back in the area, we will definitely stay there again.

You can’t beat the price. I read the reviews before selecting this place. We wanted to stay close to Monterey, but on a budget. The hotel exceeded my expectations. It is near a gas station, yes. But you don’t really notice it when in your room. You can hear the street traffic a bit, but you sleep right through it. Very clean, cute updated decorations and the check in lady is super sweet and friendly. Give it a chance, you will be pleasantly surprised. The lobby has fresh flowers and smells heavenly.

It’s very good, out of my expectations! Spacious room, all is clean, tidy and with microwave. The hardness of the bed is excellent. The only less satisfaction is the bathrooms without ventilation. If there is ventilation fan, it will be perfect.

The place is a lot cleaner than a lot of the places I’ve stayed at. It’s located next to a gas station, so you can fill up on gas snacks very easily. The staff is super nice, as well!
My favorite part about this place is the historical decor pieces—it was unexpected but it was such a nice touch to our room and we enjoyed going through the 1944 encyclopedia during our downtime!

This place blew my expectations out of the marina. In all seriousness, great value, very clean, and cozy. We asked for our breakfast bag to go the night prior due to early travel plans the next morning and they were very gracious in giving it to us, and you can tell its made with love. Would come again.

Property Manager is super nice and helpful! In a very nice, safe area. Chatter and sound (other than light traffic noises) cut off each night around 9:30/10. Would definitely stay here again.
