One of the best places I have stayed for attention to details and quality!

We only stayed for one night, while in transit. The actual hotel and its facilities were lovely (I could happily live in the suite we had!), the food and staff were great. The only issue is its position right on the main arterial route between Italy and Austria - there is a major A road on one side, a river and a railway on the other. Although rooms are very well double-glazed (so there is no noise problem with these closed) during August one really rather wants them open...!
The surrounding countryside is wonderful, so if you are prepared to leave the hotel environs, it is still a lovely place to be - but the hotel itself is hardly resort material. An excellent place to stop for the night while in transit, however.

A beautiful hotel with lovely, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. The overall atmosphere is excellent, and the property is very well maintained. Given its location, I would recommend having a car, although it is possible to walk into town (20–30 minutes) or rent a bike (reservations recommend). Of note, there is no air conditioning and the rooms can become uncomfortably hot, to the point where it is difficult to stay in them during the day. However, this should not be a problem for most of the year ;-) I would definitely return.
