I was very surprised with how great the hotel was. The price per night was very good. The staff were all friendly and the amenities are great!

I loved the Dotonbori Hotel--the hospitality, the daily cultural activities (like kimono dressing), and incredible complimentary offerings like beer, ice cream, and noodles. The staff members are very nice, friendly, versatile, and have great customer service skills. I felt very welcomed into the hotel. During the Kimono Experience event, the staff members helped dress everyone up, complete with sandals and hairdo. I will definitely come back and recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Loved this hotel! Great location and perfect for families. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The hotel had events daily in the lobby that the kids enjoyed. Also loved the free amenities like coffee in the morning and ice cream and alcohol in the afternoon.

Overall, this hotel was okay and pretty much what you’d expect for the price. The staff were genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.
The biggest downside was the size of the family room. While it fit three double beds, there was very little space left over—just enough room for one or two suitcases. The bathroom was also quite small. Our room’s air conditioning wasn’t working properly and would occasionally stop in the middle of the night, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The pillows were very thin, and when I asked for extras, I was told none were available.
Another thing to note is that the laundry machines were quite expensive—about double what we paid at our hotel in Kyoto.
On the positive side, we loved all the complimentary perks. The hotel provided free cup noodles, and there were stations offering complimentary coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, and even alcohol during certain hours. These extras definitely added value to our stay.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, and the friendly staff and freebies helped make up for some of the shortcomings. That said, I do think the hotel could improve the room layout and overall space, especially for families.
