The room was really lovely. It had a comfortable bed, was clean and very homely. The atmosphere in the bar/restaurant was relaxed and the food was great. Nice theme throughout and lovely touches. We will definitely come back and stay here again.

Very well appointed and comfortable room. Great breakfast. Only downside was lack of TV service in the room - you have to stream from your own device (which we couldn’t get to work). WiFi speeds very good.

I stay in a lot of hotels being in a national role and this is quite honestly one of my new favourite hotels. They have paid attention to detail and you can tell they have listened to their guests feedback. There is a book giving you lots of information which is really helpful. The bathroom was a little cold but they had provided robes and slippers. The heating was a little noisey but they told you how to overcome this in their book of information, the provided lots of lovely toiletries and gave you the information to purchase. Fresh milk and water in the fridge, little chocolates to go alongside your coffee, a gin measure to take it the bar. Everything is also done very nicely decorating and accessories wise. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is also lovely. I am looking to go back for a visit with the other half so we can make the most of both the hotel and the area. Easy parking with lots of space too.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic - we came for the weekend with our baby boy and our 2 dogs and stayed in a dog friendly room. The room was beautiful, very comfortable with everything we could have needed, including a goody bag for the dogs which they were very pleased about! The pub itself is beautiful and the food and service was fabulous - the staff could not do enough for us. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area!

Charming pub with nice rural aspect, conveniently close to Christchurch. Loads of on-site parking. We had a generous sized room on the top floor looking out over fields with a very comfortable bed and large ensuite. The Bear theme runs throughout the pub (with little touches like a bear vase and bear door handles in the room) and the decor is very pleasant throughout. Well equipped room with proper capsule coffee maker and range of nice chocolates and teas. Excellent full breakfast menu with pleasant service. We'll definitely be back!

The whole ambience of the Bear was good. Loved the style & decor of the place. Staff were efficient & friendly. Young grandchildren visited us in the afternoon & games were available for them in the bar. A thoroughly lovely stay - wished it was longer!

Really great hotel. They guy running front of house was amazing, super friendly and really helpful. Honestly made me think I'd stay again due to him! The hotel was really nicely furnished, super clean, great in room facilities and the breakfast was really nice.

All the staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was ideal for our 3 night stay. The room we had was very comfortable and the restaurant was also very good. Avon beach, Mudeford, Hengistbury Head and the town of Christchurch were all within easy reach, a few minutes by car.

Wonderful little stay in the country. The pub is beautiful and the bear theming throughout it adorable. The room was stunning, tastefully decorated with everything you need from an espresso machine to lovely toiletries. The bar stocks a great range of gins to work your way through! Breakfast was the perfect way to set you up for the day. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond - will definitely be back!

The overall look, style and feel of the hotel was great. The room was clean, well presented with air con. Fresh milk in the fridge was a bonus too. Restaurant menu was quite limited and a little overpriced, but the food was good. Breakfast was very good. My main issue was the comfort of the bed that i slept in . Possibly the worst nights sleep in s long while. It was like sleeping on an ironing board and i had to resort to postioning pillows to get some comfort . It maybe just this room but it did alter thw way i felt sbout the stay. I am trying again in 2 weeks and will request a different room to see.

Lovely property, lovely food. Having great food and rooms doesn’t mean a thing unless you have great service and a friendly atmosphere and this hotel had it in bucket loads! Thanks to Aaron who made our stay fantastic. Will be returning again.

We arrived early evening after a dreadful motorway journey. We were greeted warmly and after a quick and efficient check in we were shown our room. It was a beautiful room and we had chosen a dog friendly room. The room provide everything we needed and more. there were even treats and gifts for our dog. As it was late we had dinner in the very comfortable and warm dining room. The food was excellent We decided on an early night and woke refreshed the next day. Breakfast was excellent and a very good menu choice. The rest of our five day break was spent enjoying the luxury of being spoiled, waited on by the wonderful staff and knowing we would return.

Beautifully restored and maintained Hotel with wonderful service and excellent food and drinks. Little extras like a complementary drink and an Espresso machine in the room were very much appreciated too.
