Great location for UPenn. Nice clean rooms but sofa bed was dirty. Good breakfast.

Overall, okay but the common area was cold and not well ventilated. Slept on the sofa couch and was cold. Staff had no additional linen at the time, initial check-in female staff member was uninterested and rude. Was told there was free parking, yeah, on the street.

Nice property, but really bad management, not enough people working. The swimming pool and the hot tub were closed even though I called to make sure those I open before I reserved my stay. Kids were disappointed.

Always an excellent stay. We will be back!

Staff were friendly, however, the room was so dirty 😢. Hair on the bed sheets, the shower was covered in thick black hair, garbage in the bathroom can, blood stains on the pull out couch mattress.
There are much cleaner hotels for the same price in Philly. I would not recommend.

Our stay was not about fun or work but about our 14 month old granddaughter battling brain cancer . We live 5 .5 hours away from childrens hospital of Philadelphia. We needed a place to stay to relieve our son and daughter in law from their around the clock care . It was so nice to come back to a very clean friendly environment after a day at the hospital . You should proud of your employees ! They do their jobs well and are very friendly . When she come back to Philly in a couple of weeks we will be stay at your hotel again !!

The parking situation is deceiving. They say they parking available but you have to pay 45.00 for valet or try to find your own spot in a downtown city area with no protection from vandalism

Hello,
We stayed at the property Monday-Thursday, so 3 nights.
I was surprised than in 3 nights we only got our room cleaned once - and that was a pretty bad job - the bad was made really weird, seems like the cleaning personnel was not even attempting to make things look good. I know it does not matter that all pillows and a blanket looks crooked, but I mean - at least try to make it seem like you care. Towels were not replaced either.
Did not realize that the only parking option would be valet for $45 per night, this is good to keep in mind for anyone staying at this property. Breakfast is very average, we had breakfast once and for other mornings decided against it.
It was an okay stay, but I would not be coming back.

It is a good hotel to stay and close to UPenn.

Two front desk ppl where in adjacent room playing on their phones while i waited. They looked at me and ifnored me for two± minutes until I asked for help. The room had a dirty shower and there were feces on the toilet seat. Really?! The floor in the sower was dirty, too. The bodywash was was empty. Used shampoo instead. Come on Hilton.

Again the service the staff all was professional and very good.
The only negative was the pricing.

Our stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in University City, Philadelphia had its ups and downs.
Cons:
1. **Noise Issues:** Unfortunately, our night was disrupted by a chair dragging on the floor above us every 25-30 minutes, making it difficult to sleep. The walls seemed thin, allowing noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms to filter through.
2. **Pool Closure Disappointment:** The indoor pool, a significant reason for booking, was closed for cleaning during our stay. This was a letdown, especially since we had planned on swimming.
3. **Maintenance and Cleanliness:** The TV remote in our den room didn't work, and we found dirty towels in the bathroom upon arrival. Additionally, the pullout mattress had noticeable stains.
Pros:
1. **Impressive Entrance and Lobby:** The hotel's entrance and lobby were aesthetically appealing.
2. **Inclusive Breakfast:** The complimentary breakfast offered a decent selection.
3. **Friendly Staff:** The staff friendly, attentive, and happy to assist with any questions.
4. **Parking Options:** While valet parking onsite was pricey, it was easy to find free street parking around the hotel.

It was in a beautiful area of Philly and convenient and close for those parents and family members of patients at nearby hospitals.
Downside was many of the doors on our floor were missing card reader covers. Our room had a crack near the lock on the inside and a cigarette burn on the bedside table, in a non smoking room

I liked the common areas of the hotel what I didn’t like was my room not being ready when I checked in and it was around 5 pm, check in is at 4 pm. They confined my reservation and told me they would call when my room was ready but never did. I had to call back, then when I got to the hotel they told me they were fully booked and didn’t have a room and gave my room to people who were waiting in the lobby. I went off and they ended up putting me in a handicap room which I didn’t reserve. I made the best of it since it was only one night. Overall the room was clean but there was a stain on the sheets and hair in the bathroom. Breakfast was good and I would be willing to give them another try.

Unable to check in on time. The bed sheets were not changed, I had to change them myself by requesting clean sheets. The door lock was broken to the room door and the safety latch was hanging off the door frame.

The reason I'm giving this 1 star is because the hotel tried to trick me into canceling my reservation, which I had made via Expedia more than two months prior to the trip (and my reservation jad been confirmed.)
A week before arrival, Ryan, who claimed to be a manager at the hotel, told me the hotel could not accommodate me for the first of the four nights I had booked. When questioned why he waited until a week before arrival, he responded that it's better than calling a day before arrival. He also said he couldn't get in touch with Expedia. Hence, he reached out to me directly, asking me to decide whether to cancel or shorten my trip to a 3 night stay. (My booking was for the 25th -29th of December.)
Fast forward, I spoke with Expedia. They contacted the lobby at the hotel. It was confirmed that the hotel can accommodate me for the entire four nights. All in all, it was a baffling, frustrating, and confusing experience.
I went ahead with the stay. After check in a confirmed with the front desk if Ryan indeed works at the hotel and was told that he's the assistant manager. I was also informed that the hotel was fully booked for the 24th and the following days. They: 'were trying to re-arrange some things ...'
If you're traveling with small kids, the pool and hot tub are nice, but the hotel can not accommodate small children very well (I inquired about a bathrobe and a step stool; they don't have either.)
Housekeeping is hit or miss. Unfortunately ours was mostly miss.

Great and safe location near universities and train station. LOVED the giant suites, wheelchair accessibility, and beautiful hot tub! Valet very friendly, complimentary breakfast very good!

I can't tell who is an employee or someone from the neighborhood.
The staff are very expressionless, and it seems like the breakfast restaurant is used by local people rather than customers.

Quite close to UPenn Hospital for visiting. Beautiful set up.

I was totally dissatisfied with the front desk experience on the check out date. There was no one available so that we could check out or even ask general questions. Breakfast was not available and the room for the breakfast area was locked and dark. I called a total of 18 times trying to reach the front desk to confirm our check out after we left at 6:30 a.m. The valet was nice enough to check me out.

We were in town for a Philadanco performance & visiting with family. The hotel was accommodating in have our family rooms next to one another and extremely family friendly. The rooms were clean & inviting. Breakfast was on point!!
The ENTIRE Staff went above & beyond in making our stay comfortable & made us feel “ FAMILY MATTERS”💜 We will return 😍

Nice location. Good breakfast. Great staff.

Property was good though know how far from downtown you will be. A good 45 minute walk. Hotel allows pets which is good, but barking all night ruined any sleep. They were overbooked so I was stuck.

Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional staff. The rooms are disgusting; the sink was clogged and when we opened the tap food was oozing out of the bathroom sink drain. Room next to me was reeking of marijuana all day and night and when we decided to checkout early and lose money on our prepaid booking, we told the front desk girl of our reason for leaving about the dirty room, clogged sink and our next door room and she just grinned and smiled and said "oh he was smoking weed hehe?" No apologies, nothing for our crappy stay and disgusting experience. Also, the lady checking us in was extremely pissed off at something and it seemed like she was doing us a favor by checking us in. The one day we decided to try the breakfast it was cold and chewy eggs, cold potatoes etc. Never again will I stay at this pathetic hotel with the pathetic staff who dont even do anything about the hoodlums standing in the hotel drop off lane and smoking weed and blaring music all night long.

Although there was some issues when checking in, I enjoyed staying here. Room was quite big and warm enough, and view from the room was also quite nice. Staffs were kind, and breakfast was good as well.

Paying $50 to park on property is absurd!

A number of small but irritating deficiencies and lacklustre service did not match the upscale price. In our room, the door was extremely difficult to open and shut, the closet door was broken, no shelves in the shower to put soap and shampoo on and the water temperature did not get hot enough to shower in. In addition, the $20 movie ordered via room service on the TV appeared to be a pirated copy from Asia that was in low definition. $42 valet service was not optional, however, the parking staff was great. Front desk staff, not so great. On the positive side, the location was great. But overall, and extremely disappointing stay.

This was one of the pricest hotels we had to choose from but said it was close to the Hospital my oldest son was staying in and had the amenities I wanted for my younger sons comfort so I was willing to spemd more than I had originally budgeted.

We checked in after midnight and once we got to our room, the room was not clean. Beds unmade. We went back down and got a new room but was told we’d have to check out of that room the next day despite staying 3 nights total. The staff was not unfriendly but certainly not friendly or service focused.

Staff were very nice. I dropped an entire bottle of wine in kitchen floor and they cleaned it up and waved off all my apologies. They were very gracious. I would like a better shower head with more options.

Ok. Appears run down. Very hard to find where you turn in for the hotel entrance, then if the valet person isn’t there, you have no clue what you are supposed to do for parking.
