We had room 1211 between april 10th - april 17th 2024.
The staff and the location was great!
The rooms were alright but I dont know about 4 stars with a smelly and dirty carpet and a bathroom in a quite poor condition, and the bed sheet had some dirty spots. They were washed but still.
Our window was covered in a big dried stain of vomit from some room above ours, so the view was a bit disappointing in that regard.
Other than that the "Welcome note" from the hotel stated that "There are some bottles of water in your room for $5 per bottle if you'd like" but none were to be found. None were charged from our credit card (yet) but still.
Breakfast was included but it was bland coffee, premade and heated stuff and no veggies or fruit whatsoever. We went for bagels, sandwiches and coffee around the corner instead.
Overall it wasn't terrible, but probably not my first choice next time I visit NY.

We stayed on the 22nd floor and on the 2nd day of our stay, they were down to one elevator!
3.0
I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past because it is right across from Madison Square Garden and the train station. It is very quiet and it is within walking distance to many things. I must confess I was very disappointed this time.
First of all, two out of three elevators were not functioning and I had to wait sometimes up to 20 minutes to get a ride.
Secondly, the cleaning of the room was not up to par. While I understand it is done every other day for ecological purposes, the cleaning crew should then not only change towels but empty the trash, check on the toilet paper, and offer some tea/coffee. This was not done at all.
Last but not least, the best feature of this hotel, its buffet, was quite a disappointment this time. They ran out of orange juice, coffee, and patrons had to let the staff know several times before these items were replenished.
There was also quite a long line to check in because both staff members were helping this one guest.

Location-wise, this is super convenient. Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station right across the street. Great for those that need easy access in and out of the city. 7 min walk to Herald Square and Koreatown. The staff were friendly and courteous. Rooms were decent. The beds were a little too cushy for our preference. Felt as though we were sinking into the middle of the bed.
I am giving a 3 star rating because the elevators are an issue. 1 of the 3 were down during the first 2 days of our stay. That already creates an inconvenience.
By the time we checked out, only 1 elevator was working. We waited for a good 10 minutes, not being able to get in the elevator due to high demand during busy morning hours. We finally decided that we had to carry our luggages down 12 long flights downstairs to check out. We even witnessed a woman having to very slowly and gingerly bring her baby down many flights of stairs on her own— while baby was inside the stroller.
I hope this hotel is able to fix their elevators soon.

I stay at this hotel every time I come to New York. The woman who checked me in was very nice. Location is very convenient. I never had issues with this hotel but this time was different. The first night was chaotic. The fire alarm went off at 1:30 am because of a burst water pipe. After going down 8 flights of stairs, we were told by another guest we can go back up as there was no fire. In the morning, we had no water so we couldn't use the sink, couldn't take a shower, or flush the toilet. It was quite inconvenient and gross. I understand stuff happens, but I feel the one night should have been fully refunded. One elevator was also out of service the entire time we were there and after the burst pipe, the other elevator was being used by the maintenance workers to clean up the flood. So guests really only had one elevator to use, leading to long wait times.

We had to change rooms as they didn’t have a room with 2 beds available for our first night. Two of the three lifts were out of order at one point and one out of order the whole time it took us 30 mins to bring our luggage down between our stay to move to the next room.
Breakfast not great for vegetation options and very crowded. Stood holding our plates as we waited for a table to come free.
Good location for New York.

Great hotel right next to penn station and MSG; short walk to Hudson Yards mall, vessel, highline walk, great restaurant The Peak and The Edge. Great Bed, BR water pressure, temperature comfort and excellent breakfast each day. Great value for all amenities for heart of NYC

This is a hidden gem in NYC right across from Moynihan Train Hall for Amtrak at Penn Station, walked right out the hotel after arriving late by rail. Staff was awesome & super friendly & accommodating. Rooms were nice sized, clean & comfortable. No mini fridge but hey it’s NYC. Conveniently located next to Metro stops as well.

I ALWAYS stay here while in NYC! It's litterally 20 steps away from the train station so no need to grab an Uber or taxi. The place is clean, wonderful free breakfast and staff is prompt, friendly and helpful when needed.

Came into the city and needed a hotel close to Penn Station for a early morning Amtrak train. It was walkable and safe.

My husban was stuck in the elevator, tried to call the desk from inside the elevator and no one answered. He had to call me and have me call the desk. No one answered. I ended up calling the emergency number. TO MANY FEES ATTACHED TO MY FINAL BILL.
PARKING NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE.

Our stay at Fairfield Inn was excellent, The staff were friendly and helpful. The room whilst small suited us as we only used it to sleep, it was clean, beds comfortable. Within walking distance of most things, Times Square, Penn Station, Empire State Building. Laundry facilities were great. Breakfast was great, lots of options. This property suited us for a base to explore New York

We are regular visitors to NYC and usually take a train into Manhattan. This Fairfield Inn is the closest hotel to the station we've ever stayed, and that works for us. As it happens we were in for an event at Madison Square Garden, so again, just across the street. The hotel itself is a pleasure. Our room was comfortably large, with good bed and shower. Common areas were clean and welcoming, including a rooftop space that was cold, but offered a beautiful view of the skyline. A very generous breakfast was offered. We will return.

Che is an outstanding representative for the hotel. She made the check I experience a wonderful experience.

The beds are very nice ! You can sleep for hours. Good location too.
The only improvement opportunity about this hotel is the attitude of the bell boys.

We arrived early and were unable to check in right away, but staff was extremely kind and the hotel was able to stow our bags for us while we went out in the city.
When we did check in they brought our bags directly up to our room for us.
Breakfast was fantastic, many options and the dining area was clean.

We arrived late after midnight and check in was easy and quick. We were disappointed to find that the heat in our room did not work. We slept in our winter coats and had very little sleep at that.

Very easy access to Amtrak. We were able to get off the train, walk across the street, and leave our luggage until time to check in! Extremely convenient!

The check in people were unfriendly. The bellman was rude. Our toilet wouldn't flush so they left a plunger in our room. The TV wouldn't turn on.

Service was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really good. Overall great experience.

For taking Amtrak, no better location, literally across the street from the Moynihan Train Hall. Seems like a new building and the rooms are surprisingly normal size compared to the rest of the country and generous for Manhattan, which is usually tiny at this price point. Decent breakfast, although crowded. Decent fitness center. I will def be back next time I take the train.

Nice hotel great location!

Our room was never cleaned in our 4 day visit. Our trash can was full and we had to use a bag.We also had to request clean towels as we received none.
The staff was friendly and the breakfast provided a good array of choices. The location for our trip was perfect and the request for a city view did not disappoint.
