Hotel was in good condition and in a great location. We partially booked for a pool which was tiny and did not look well maintained. Also upgraded for a balcony which was in the interior of the building so no view. Staff seemed very short but everybody there was very polite and helpful.

The hotel did not notify us that the pool was closed until after they took our money. We also booked a balcony room which ended up looking at an internal courtyard of brick buildings. Wasn’t worth the extra money. We booked a king room with pull out bed sofa. We were staying with our child. I found the bedding for pull out but no pillows. When I called the front desk I was told there wasn’t any extra pillows. I complained. Called
Hotels.com to complain. After about a hour the front desk person showed up with pillows and rolled her eyes at me…
Nothing was done by hotel to make our stay right until after I sent an email to Marriott CEO! Then suddenly they started to treat us better, giving a gift basket to our son for the lack of pool.
Hotel is under construction in lobby, pool and workout facility. I couldn’t find pool closure anywhere on web, which was a shame because it was the entire reason we picked this particular property. I even asked if they had an alternative which was met with a resounding no. Marriott customer liaison had me in tears just being super unhelpful. It’s like he was mad I wrote email to ceo. The hotel tried to make things better but for me it was too little too late.

I was dissatisfied with our stay. While we were aware of the ongoing construction in the lobby, we were not prepared for the unsafe conditions upon entering and existing the lobby. There were loose tiles on the floor of the makeshift walking path. The wet mopping in front of the elevator doors with no where else to step was unacceptable. The lack of any food and or drink was very inconvenient. The bathroom sink did not drain. ( I notified the front desk). Great location, as I will be traveling to this area several times a year for the next three years, but not certain I will spend my money with Courtyard by Marriott.

The lobby and dining area was under construction and the hotel did not provide room service. The fitness room had no equipment. The pool was supposed to be heated but felt cool. The room did not have complimentary items like toothpaste. And the bath tub and carpet appeared unclean.

Terrance was a wonderful employee who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.

It was terrible. There was very loud disruptive construction and they didnt tell me there would be construction until the day before I arrived, therefore it was too late to change hotels.

Great location, wonderful and friendly staff, especially Terry at the bar / bistro in the evenings plus Markeska and Jad on front of house desk.
Our room was clean and spacious.

Front desk always very helpful

Hotel is undergoing renovations on some floors. Quiet during sleeping hours. Rooms and bathroom were new and comfortable. The bistro restaurant offered generous portions, but was a little expensive. Parking is valet only and there is only one person retrieving/parking cars. Leads to congestion and long wait times.

I like that it was easy walking distance to all the monuments. The room was nice and it was a nice hotel. The staff was nice also. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Do NOT pay extra for the executive suite with balcony. The room is TINY, the balcony is basically a shadowy alcove with a small space you might be able to sit at with another person as long as one of you teleports in or recedes into the dark corner. No outdoor lighting so it’s not enjoyable. No view. Shows a non existent coffee bar in the pic. Pull out sofa bed is maybe 5 feet long. Literally one of the smallest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Restaurant downstairs is pitiful. Parking is triple nearby garages. It’s clean. It’s safe. But that “upgrade” is a joke.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room size was decent, and the location was convenient. The staff was polite. However, there were significant drawbacks. The sofas in the room were not clean, and their colors had faded, which gave an overall shabby appearance. The bar was frequently closed, and the dimly lit lobby space with minimal staff was uninviting. Additionally, the limited breakfast hours ending at 9:30 am were inconvenient. Overall, my stay was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Great location! However we seemed to have gotten the room with the worst view. Our view was a six story apartment building. I felt like I was in my own personal “Rear Window”. It became very claustrophobic. Staff could have been a bit more friendly.

Very convenient for Smithsonian and National Mall

The hotel was very nice. But when I placed my reservation I paid extra for a package that included parking but when we left they charged us for parking a second time.

The hotel, and location, were amazing! Also, Jada at the front desk was phenomenal.

The property was so convenient to walk to so many attractions, restaurants, and coffee shops. The parking fee is somewhat high per night ($56.00) but the valet staff were very nice as were the hotel front desk staff. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very nice and the beds comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel!

Parting expensive and not close to a metro station otherwise it was a good experience

Marriott is always in convenient locations, walkable to nearby shops and museums.

Overall it was a very nice hotel and we had a wonderful experience. I do wish that the mandatory valet service would have been explained up front. Nevertheless it was a great clean hotel

It was in a great location for all the attractions and it was easy with the valet parking.

The location was perfect. We had a convenience store at the back. it is close to the memorials and we could walk to the bus stop to take the bus to the Zoo.

Family trip to DC. Very easy location to see several sights. Yummy food close by, too. Room was smaller than anticipated but otherwise comfortable. Having a balcony was a plus! Our teens enjoyed the gym each morning and a few dips in the pool. Staff were nice.

Ignored request for adjoining rooms; Pool was small, no chairs, windowless, and never used; Back outdoor patio was filthy trash bucket was full and never emptied. Staff was argumentative over a breakfast bagel (needed manager). Not a good place to stay for vacationers.

Customer service was lacking to say the least.
1) called desk the night I checked in, 90 degrees out side with 90% humidity. Told them I did not think air was working, they said they would send someone up, no one came. Had trouble sleeping the next day when I returned to the room, still warm. Day 3, called a second time. This time they actually sent someone up. The air conditioner was blowing hot (83) He fixed it but given it was a hot, humid weekend, not a time to be without air. But what really irritated me was at no time did the hotel staff check with me to see if the air had been fixed and everything was good and it took more than one request to have air-conditioning fixed.
2) we were staying over the 4th of July. Parking was $50 a night but worth it to be able to park the car and not worry about it. When I pulled up to valet on the 4th, valet said hotel parking was full. I had to park blocks away and after the fireworks etc, people left the hotel the garage and there was room for my car. I walked 5 blocks at 11:00 at night by myself to retrieve it and paid the same amount to park it in the garage as I would have if I had parked it earlier in the day as planned. Feel like hotel garage should be for guest first before they try and make money off of the general public

Great spot. Walkable, great restaurant!

My stay was great! It’s just a bit expensive for what you got. But, the room was clean and comfortable, the location was perfect, and the staff were wonderful.

Our checking was simple and we were greeted by the lovely and helpful Ms. Corinna Henderson. She was a breath of fresh air our whole week. Your housekeeping staff was amazing. Room cleaned to perfection everyday. Ms. Cheyenne Lott greeted us warmly after a long day of sightseeing and was helpful answering our questions. The Courtyard Foggy Bottom is perfectly located near National sights, museums and restaurants. I have nothing negative to say about our amazing experience.

We loved our stay. This so the perfect neighborhood for yummy food and close enough to walk to everything you want to see in DC. The pool was supposed to open right as we were leaving but I don’t think that was going to happen.

The room was comfortable, was it a king suite? No
The happy hour was non existent....... the ice machines were not working on most floors

Nice new hotel in great location. The garage is $56 per day additional and has valet in and out. They don't print a phone number on the valet ticket so I walked down and handed to him. He said I can call the front desk and ask them to relay a message to him but they should really have a separate valet number. I'm so used to staying in city hotels with bellman, mini-bar, etc. This is not one of those hotels. Kind of like staying at a Hampton Inn except in the city. For the price I might have sprung for a hotel with these amenities for not much more money. The location was great as we were visiting GWU and it's practically on campus. The basement swimming pool is tiny so don't think the kids will be impressed. No complaints otherwise.

Great property. Clean, professional. Nice area, easy check-in. No complaints at all.

very nice hotel and staff but pool was closed so my kids (who only came along for the pool) were bored and upset. There was no communication about the pool or an offer to comp for it being closed.

Property is centrally located, about a 15-minute walk to the Washington Mall and White House area. It's on the GW University Campus and everything was pretty clean around the hotel. Front desk was helpful and welcoming. Bar and lounge area has drinks and bistro food options. There's a Subway and Starbucks beside the hotel and a CVS and 7-11 market a block away.

Really nice hotel. Perfect location to visit GWU.
