The hotel was in a great part of Pittsburg. Very safe walking the neighborhood. Very classy hotel with great ambiance and the check in was easy. Surprisingly, the parking, in a big city, was easy. I thought the price for all that was very reasonable. The issue we had was the mechanicals in the building was loud and vibrating to the point that we could not sleep which ended up with us leaving in the middle of the night and shortening our vacation due to the lack of sleep. So a great trip ended on a sour note.

This is a beautiful old home and the charm is its unique features such as crown molding, 15-foot ceilings, and painted frescoes on the walls/ceiling. Our room was on the front of the building which was quite noisy. The hotel is beginning to show its age, but overall we had a lovely time.

My boyfriend and me stayed at the Mansion on Fifth. We loved the loft style king room. Super unique, quiet, and comfortable. The only issue we had was we wanted coffee that was fresh and not from the tiny little machine located in the room. There was coffee and food available from 10 am till maybe ten thirty am. We missed our coffee! There was only one staff member the entire time with the exception of one cleaning lady while we were checking out.

Stayed in smaller house next to the mansion. It was still very cool. However, the mansion was booked for a wedding so we did not have access to it until late in the evening- too late for us. Would have been ok if we knew that when we booked it, but there was nothing about that on listing. …Bwd was very comfortable, but sofa bed for my son was pretty bad. …Great restaurant choices 1/2 mile walk.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Mansions on Fifth. It's a beautifully restored historic property in a great location. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. We used the small gym and the breakfast was delicious.

Very cool property with amazing architecture and spacious room. Quality of bed linens could be better. Window blinds very dirty but room was otherwise clean. Views amazing. Just a little more attention to detail would have earned better rating but overall we enjoyed our stay. Pub awesome although we didn’t have time to enjoy. Would likely stay again.

A large event left is without parking! The same event had a loud after-party in the room below us with thumping music (by 1:30 AM, I think the staff should have shut it down)

Parking was awful, we didn’t realise we weren’t in the main house which was the reason we chose, our room had an ant problem and admittedly they did credit our account a percentage for that. Housekeeping made our bed but nothing else, left ant filled cups, didn’t refresh towels or empty trash. Staff were mostly uninterested in us. Facilities don’t warrant it being called a luxury hotel.

This is a very beautiful property and only 0.4 miles to CMU. The surrounding of the property is quiet and safe, there is a bus stop close and we can go around by bus. The front desk people is very nice.

Fantastic location to town, the college and the museums. We walked to all of these multiple times leaving the car behind. Our 3rd floor room we a bit warm one afternoon when it was 90* outside, but other than that we enjoyed our little hideaway.

We booked the room same day as we were driving in from out of town. Prepaid with confirmation number. When we arrived they said they were fully booked and, “yeah, this happens all the time.” Obviously could not have cared less that we were forced to scramble for a room. Would not recommend.

Enjoyed our one night stay at this Hotel. Impressive façade. the staff that we interacted with were all helpful and friendly. It was a lot of fun reading a book in the lobby at night. The building was nicely restored, and updated to accommodate guests. the one suggestion I would have is that some of the painted trim in the rooms had wear, dark marks, scuffs on it. With all the woodwork so nice and clean, an occasional paint touch up on the trim would really loook nice. I would stray here again. Thanks.

What an incredible B&B ! We recommend 💯!! Breathtaking, unique and located in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh. The homes in the area are called Millionaires Row !!

Receptionist at front desk was unfriendly during check-in and check-out. Acted as though we were bothering her. We made brunch reservations for the next morning at 10:15AM. The front desk (same lady) called at 9:30AM the next morning to say that they couldn't guarantee they would have a table for us at our reservation time. I asked if we could wait and was advised that they could not guarantee that they could seat us at all and suggested we cancel. No apology whatsoever.

Both buildings are beautiful. The rooms are very nice, considering that these were mansions and not built as luxury hotels. Unbelievably convenient to University of Pittsburgh and a lot of other nice areas.

It's history and location. was disappointed in staffs service and availability. Was not listed as not being handicapped accessible. Listed Butler available in marketing, however Butler was not available during our 2-day stay. Would not recommend this hotel for folks not able to climb a lot of steps.

The staffs were friendly, but service was slow. The reception desk is a tiny window booth. The decor is dark and the elevator is old. Our room was clean, but there is a hole in the bathroom window. Soft music played in the lobby traveled to our room and we heard it all night long. When we asked to stowaway our luggage, we were offered to put it in a small utility closet by ourselves. This hotel is sufficient if you are looking for something within walking distance to CMU (which is why we stayed there).

The exterior lighting was very bright and shining right into the window. The heating and cooling could not be adjusted for comfort. The bed was also uncomfortable.
