I arrived at the Avondale Motel on a cold, rainy night and a bit flustered from my long trip. However, I was warmly welcomed at Alex at the front desk, who made sure I had everything I needed. My room was kept beautifully clean throughout my stay and the staff was kind and friendly. I highly recommend this motel!

The bed was mushy and although I prefer the ceramic tiles to carpet, the floors pick up every noise. The chairs in the living rooms are heavy and everyone slides them around the room and the noise is terrible. Even moving them just a little to sit or get up vibrates throughout the first floor rooms. If you stay there, request a room on the top floor. It's worth the walk up and the view is much better.

The staff is really courteous and welcoming. The room was clean and very spacious. Each room has rocking chairs on the balcony and the property is well maintained. The location is great. Everything is within walking distance.

Nice 3rd floor view of the beach & ocean, but had to climb the stairs. I was made aware that there was no elevator upon making reservations.

This will be the place I will choose to stay when I’m in Cape May. The place overall is excellent and the front desk staff are all wonderful, but Charlie was the best!

The location is fantastic. Right across the street from the beach and an easy walk to a lot of restaurants and shops.
In fact we did not move our car the entire time we were there. The room was a good size and was clean. The balcony was a hit as it overlooked the beach.

We loved our visit to Cape May and Avondale by the Sea made it that much more enjoyable. Room was spacious and clean but did smell a little bleached. Over cleaned I say. View was terrific and people were very friendly. We will stay there again.

I was a little upset that upon booking confirmation (paid in full), my room was supposed to be Oceanview, but upon check in, I was told they only had a partial Oceanview room for me, which is an inner corner unit with a set back and obstructed view of the beach. Never would have expected that issue midweek in September, and they were not willing to make that room downgrade palatable, like, reduce the rate. Rather, they just said they’d let me cancel without penalty. Business must be good to go and treat customers that way. And another thing, the continental breakfast is kinda weak (no fruit!?!?) and donuts are gone in the first fifteen minutes.

Could not have had a better location. Right across the street from the beach with absolutely clear views. No buildings in the way!! Spectacular views while relaxing on our rocking chairs on the balcony. Living area had door to balcony with a storm door providing clear views and a big window. The overall unit was well laid out and clean and comfortable. Would return.

The location of the property was ideal for enjoying the beach in Cape May. Really enjoyed the pool and the beach was right across the street. Wheels were clean and maid service was terrific. appreciated the continental breakfast and coffee in the morning

Awesome time floating I'm the saltwater pool next to the ocean and waking up to a beautiful view and got coffee compliments of the owner. Beach tags included and free parking.

The hotel staff was wonderful and the hotel is in a great location, right across the street from the beach. It was also pretty close to the Washington mall area which has great shopping and dining options. The hotel room itself is very plain, no frills. However I did feel like it was clean and the housekeeping staff were great with any requests we had.

No microwave in room, have to walk the hallway to get to one. Washer & dryer looked rusty. Wouldn't wash my clothes there. Very overpriced for the inconveniences. The manager, Alex, was fantastic! So was the rest of staff! The owner has an attitude. Good thing I didn't meet him until I checked out or I wouldn't have stayed there! AND no elevator?!
