The room was on the highway side and even the kids didn’t sleep because of the traffic noise. When the heater kicked in it sounded like a big truck coming through the room

It was conveniently located just off the highway, where most lodgings would be a motel for a quick overnight before hitting the road again. This hotel looked and felt more upscale. The room was very clean and reasonably priced. We arrived late. However, the lobby store had a deli and was conveniently stock with a variety of snacks so we could quickly grab something to eat before bed. The free breakfast was fantastic and not just cereal!! It gave us a peace of mind so that we continue comfortably on our journey.

Usually enjoy excellent stays at Hampton Inn & Suites chain. This location in Truro met most of the quality standards: clean, safe, friendly and helpful staff, quality hot free breakfast buffet in the morning. However, the beds in our room were awful. You could feel the springs, creeks, and not comfortable to say the least. The bedding and pillows were awful as well. Bedding comforter was difficult to keep on the bed. Pillows were razor thin and surprisingly cheap quality. The most important part of any stay is a good night sleep. This did not happen with this poor calibre of bed and pillows. Wall containers are great in the shower. Good idea to offer good shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in wall containers as opposed to the cheap stuff we experienced. We will not stay at this location in the future and will consider other options through Expedia other than Hampton Inn & Suites.

One of the wall lamps between the beds was broken and hanging on an angle. We reported it immediately to let them know that it was that way when we walked in the door.
Hopefully they will fix it before the next guest uses the room.

Good overall. Hampton needs to improve their quality of towels. Bath towels are very small and thin. Best Westerns provide much better larger towels so a person uses them all.

When i arrived to the hotel to check in i gave Kaitlyn my Mastercard and when she swipped it she said the card cant be accepted it has to be an credit card then another staff member came to the desk he had blonde curly hair i didnt know his name and Kaitlyn told him that she cant accept my mastercard so i asked the both of them if i could use a different card and they both were laughing at me and the guy said we will accept it this time but next time wont happen then continue laugh at me so i went to the car to get another card went back to the front desk Kaitlyn swipped the card and handed me the debit machine thank god i looked down because i noticed the price was higher then what i seen on my account for Expedia i looked up and was like why are you charging me more and didnt tell me before i left to get my card Kaitlyn said its a fee they have to charge honestly at that point i didnt wanna argue i felt so embarrassed and upset and hurt of how i was treated and basically laughed at the whole time checking in to the hotel so i payed then later on that night my hubby went for a shower and got out the drain to the bath tub wasnt draining the water properly and took 20 minutes to fully drain the bath tub after this experience i will definitely be spreading the word around NovaScotia about the staff will make you feel out of place and not welcome laugh at you and i took pictures of the room of how dirty it was with dust and the bath tub not properly draining.

Lovely hotel. What I would expect from Hampton.
Friendly enough but not the most competent desk staff. However, lovely room and bathroom, felt recently refurbished. Breakfast was fine.
A little out of the way so would recommend having a car if planning to stay here.

Overall the place was really clean but there were a few places in bathroom on wall, old cheese in a cupboard and the elevator walls were gross. Felt they could of given them a wipe down at least once per day.

This hotel is a good spot if you have work or sport events in Truro. The hotel is well maintained, clean and everything you expect from a Hilton chain. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and they have new additions to their shower gels which was great. The breakfast was excellent.
Finally, the staff at the hotel were pleasant and helpful.

Front desk staff were confirming with some guests that bed bugs were found the day of check in (we checked in with a large group for a sports event) and other guests they were denying. Unfortunately due to hotel capacity, was not able to check out and move locations. They closed the hotel down the day the group checked out. Very disappointed to see how this was handled by the hotel
