It was very small, but had fridge and microwave so that's a plus.

Overall the southsider was what it’s meant to be a decent place to stay in a pinch the only complaint I have is my neighbor having people knock on his door all day and night but as long as you don’t get out next to room 1 you’ll find it cozy quiet outside of street traffic.

The motel was great but it is on a main street and it was one extremely loud and I mean extremely loud vehicle after another. There must not be a noise ordinance or it's too hard to enforce. This went on most of the night. Other than that the place was great!

Derek in the office was friendly and helpful at check in and thru out my stay of 3 nights

I’d really like to say anything! Thank You

A charming, funky little motel.

The room was pretty dirty, and there was people outside the window all night long. For a last minute stay it was alright- but I don’t think I’ll stay here again.

Check In was smooth, great little room, ice machine was handy. Nice amenities in the room, coffee, fridge and microwave. Nicely remodeled shower.
Noise from the highway might be a thing for some, but not too bad.

Motel was right off Hwy 1 so there was a lot of traffic noise. It was not in the best part of town. The motel office door was locked and there was a sign that said, "no loitering". The furnishings were old. We choose motels on our road trips based on the ratings by others and we do not believe this motel lived up to the good ratings.

Well - I read the reviews and was trying to help out a small business owner. Small business owner needs to do a few upgrades. The positives - shower pressure was amazing. Bed/Towel Linens were clean - old but clean. Now the negatives - There was a burn hole in the very old 1980's bedspread. The mattress was cheap and very uncomfortable. I considered staying another night but my back would have been very mad at me. The toilet doesn't flush well - and there was only a trinkle of water from the sink- had to brush my teeth using the shower.... I thought the floor was clean until I mopped up the water from my shower and the white towels turned gray. Over all with a few upgrades this could be a cute and comfortable little place. Might charge a bit more as a "boutique" but would definitely need some serious upgrades - furniture is old and outdated. Some paint would go a long way and updated art - the picture in my room had to be from 1960 - and not in a good "retro" way.

We enjoyed our stay at the South Sider. We expected it to be very noisy at night as it was right on the corner of Highway 101, but it wasn't so bad. The bed was comfortable, the TV worked and was good quality and there was an ice machine with ice in it! Excellent shower!

It is locally owned not a chain. Help support small buisness owners. Also the owner gave me a great restaurant suggestion for dinner.

Convenient location. I would stay here again.

staff was very kind, pretty clean for the good price. Not luxurious, but enough amenities for one night stay.

Gentleman at the office was friendly. Room was okay- pretty clean, bed was not very comfortable and there were no blankets. Very easy check out.

Property have very few rooms. The rooms are clean. The water pressure in the shower is great. The room has a refrigerator and a microwave oven which is very convenient. The room does not have air conditioning but has a free standing fan. You can open the windows and get a lot of ocean breezes but did not feel safe sleeping with the windows open. They have bottled water at the check in desk but wanted a dollar for one. I think it should be complementary if you are a guest there.

The bed made alot of noise when you move a little. Location was convenient. Floor was clean, a bit crowded in the room. Good for sleeping

The night manager was very helpful. I had called ahead to let him know I was running very late and he waited. I was grateful as the hotel was full. The room was clean. The hotel is right off the main street so there is traffic noise all night. There is no air conditioning so the window had to be open which made me feel unsafe as it was so close to a public street on the ground floor. They did provide a nice fan I could place in front of the window, but for safety I felt the need to close the curtain and the window while I slept and the fan did not provide enough climate comfort for my needs.

The place is clean, comfortable, accessible and welcoming

The room looks like it was recently redone. New flooring and bathroom had been updated nicely. Good value for the cost. Floor needed remopped with clean water and/or new mop head.

The room was clean and had a tile floor, fridge and microwave, and a refreshed bathroom. Comfortable bed. I have never stayed in a roadside motel so I don't know how it compares to others, but I thought it was just fine.

Coos bay is. It exactly the best area. However this motel is a great little shrinking star in an otherwise dark town. Idk something by weird about coos bay.

The toilet wouldn’t flush. You have to lift the tank lid and pull up on the plug inside the tank. The room was clean enough but smelled bad. The front desk office is locked and you have to stand outside in the rain and ring a bell to get help. I’m not sure why it gets such good ratings.

Very clean cozy little hotel. Comfy beds and nice area

The bed was to hard, the two chairs around the table were outside metal ones hard and unconformable, the other chair the back was broken, the freezer door was loose, the water pressure in the bathroom sink was very low not enough to wash with, plus the sink was coming lose from the wall, the toilet was also loose at the floor. there were grab bars in the shower but no seat for my disabled wife to use. Getting from the car to the room there was a concrete walking path but you couldn't use it because the car blocked it when you parked, then there was rock laid down on each side of the concrete made it very hard for my disabled wife to get to and from the room. the traffic noise was very bad. will not go back to this motel

It was a disappointed stay. Holes in the bedspread, toilet was loose, water tank toilet did not fill itself, thin towels, thin walls, location next to busy intersection. My advice: close this motel.

Easy checkin process, quiet property, just off th 101. Basic room, fridge, microwave and fridge. Clean and appears to have been remodeled recently.

The Good: Bed was comfortable and WiFi worked well. The Bad: difficult check-in, towels like sandpaper, 1 -2 inch gap under outside door letting in the freezing cold wind and the noise, non-smoking room...stank of smoke.
2.0
The room was clean but a bit over perfumed. The bed was firm. Wi-fi is very good. Traffic noise quiets down about 9:30pm. The room is heated with electric baseboard which we appreciate for its' quietness. They claim to provide daily maid service but the room was not prepared with clean towels or a freshly made bed for our second night. If I pay the same price for each night I expect the the room to be serviced the same. We did not call the office for service due to our evening arrival that night but if they care about the customer experience it would have been done already.

Right next to a busy street, so traffic noise is expected.

An excellent value. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Large shower. No frills but would definitely stay here again.

Just a cheap clean room no air though

Nice stay, nice little town. Great staff. Spic and span.

There was nobody in the office I was yelling for someone and finally after 20 minutes a weird guy comes out of no where. Mind you it was 3:40. I said I want to check in he continues to say check in is at 5pm

Old place with no a/c but ok in pinch on Sat night.

Perfect 1-nt stay while driving the West Coast. Room was clean, well furnished and affordable, with several places to eat within easy walking distance. I appreciated the shower cap and toiletries. Check-in was easy and mgmt. was responsive.

It’s only a night stay. , the room was clean and the most important for us is the microwave and the fridge was provided, They should provided more coffee and creamer for their quest, maybe we book again in this Motel in our future travel in the US.

This is an old hotel on Highway 101 in Coos Bay. I mention 101 because there was a lot of noise at the hotel. Not just a lot of traffic, but Harley's revving their engines, people racing, and it goes late into the night. The clerk gave me a room right next to the highway. When I complained he said that room was as noisy as the rest. I doubt that, but I'm sure every room gets their share of noise. The surrounding area is not so nice, but there is a lot of stores and food options in walking distance. The room itself was okay. The bed was hard - I can tell because my shoulders ached when I woke up and I sleep on my side. The towels were as probably as old as the hotel - small and about as scratchy as they get. My toilet only worked for the first flush. I removed the top of the water cabinet and found that the flushing unit was broken. I manually flushed the next times. No coffee is served. Decent channel selection. There's a fridge and a microwave in the room. The floors are tiled.

Very noisy location. The room was distressingly plain. But the worst was the lack of ventilation. No A/C., of course.
But there were a couple of positives: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Shower was good.
5.0
Great little room that was clean and check in was easy.
