The Russell is a great, unique, fun hotel that doesn't skimp on comfort or amenities. The staff were attentive and helpful before and during our stay. We appreciated a surprise complimentary anniversary gift when we got to our room. The bedding was comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and the whole hotel was very clean and comfortable. It's centrally located in East Nashville to be able to walk to a lot of locations. We rented a car but would have been able to do without. Overall would recommend, and i hope we get to come back and enjoy it again.

Friend recommended we stay at The Russell for our three-night holiday in town and it was a great choice. The shared space is top-notch, comfortable, and easy to navigate. Our room had a comfortable bed, was quiet at night, and roomy shower. We'd be happy to come back next time in Nashville.

I LOVED the unique room we stayed in. Parking was easy. Check in and check out was fast and easy. The staff was on top of communication. The bed and robes were so incredibly comfortable. I felt spoiled. 10/10 will go again.

We loved the design and vibe. The ability to leave luggage locked and pick up extended our enjoyment of the city. The East Nashville restaurant/bar scene was an excellent contrast to the crazy SoBro mess. We liked that the owners support the community with the money we pay to stay.

The Russell was a perfect place for a long getaway weekend! The location was unbeatable and was close to downtown Nashville and other hot spots. The hotel is very clean and the staff also made the effort to text me while I was there to make sure everything was okay. The next time we decide to take a trip here, this will be my first choice. Thank you again!!

A truly uniques experience. In a quiet neighborhood. Beautiful, creative and well done. Had everything we needed and lots of little touches including a snack basket and plush robes. Loved the stain glass! Parking was easy with no trouble getting where we wanted to go.

The owners have turned this former church into a beautiful place to stay. It is a gorgeous space and very modern. The reason I am only giving it 4 stars is because the space did have some quirks we didn't love. We booked a room with a skylight so that we could get some light, but the skylight looked into the roof of the building, not directly to outdoors so the room was quite dark, even with all the lights on. Also the space with the toilet has a door, but the shower didn't. Given there isn't a door for the restroom space at all, it made for a chilly shower. We lucked out with quiet neighbours so no noise issues at night, but we could hear conversions in other rooms quite clearly. There was a lovely welcome basket and even though there are no staff at the property they were easilu reached by text.

Unique and fun place to stay. Very close to Nashville nightlife but away from the noise of the downtown. Had a great night’s sleep in this quiet neighbourhood. Parking was really easy. Would definitely stay again.

We loved The Russell. The hotel is beautiful and is in a lovely quiet neighborhood in East Nashville. The building was an old church that has been restored and converted in to 3 floors of rooms. It’s a family owed and operated business that gives a portion of the proceeds to the homeless ministry in Nashville. That alone is enough to sell me, but the rooms are so nice and very comfortable. It’s a short drive to downtown or an easy Uber ride. If available, I’ll be booking this hotel every trip to Nashville. The Photo Booth was an unexpected surprise and so much fun! Thank you guys for a wonderful stay!

Loved our stay here. This boutique hotel is amazing not only for what it has to offer (comfort, quietness, cleanliness, location), but also for what it does for the local community (giving away a portion of each booking to the homeless community). It is beautiful how they have converted the church into a hotel, and the level of service was top-notch for having no staff member on the premises. The level of communication and thoughtfulness was outstanding, and everything about the stay from moment of check-in to check-out was smooth and superb. I cannot recommend this hotel enough to everyone. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Nashville.

The minute we pulled in we loved the area around Russell. The parking lot was so close and never full so we could easily come and go. There were bars, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping all within 10 minutes of walking. We ended up staying in East Nashville more than downtown with how nice the area was. The hotel was clean and quiet. The rooms were nice sized and the beds were amazing. We will be back!

If we ever have plans to return to Basement East for a concert, we will definitely stay at The Russell. We choose it because it's only a 2 minute walk to the venue. Our room was a bit on the quirky side in terms of decor and layout, but we like that. And, although this is a contactless hotel, we felt well cared for during our visit. We received texts to make sure we had everything we needed, and we had water, snacks, and a bottle of sparkling waiting for us in the room. The hotel has a nice ice machine that also dispenses water and ice water. Plus they provide free parking right across the street! All in all a very pleasant stay.

What a unique venue, I loved that they kept the original church and used the church theme to carry through the entire building. The room was spacious, fun, very well stocked and had everything you need for a relaxed visit. Great location with lots of food and drink venues within walking distance, safe and I will stay there again!

Amazing, very unique hotel. Although you don’t have reception, everything is done online and through the phone. Lots of welcoming and supporting messages were received prior to and through out the stay. Very convenient no key system. Clean room, comfortable bed, very quite, champaign and snacks were nice touches:) I must mention that coffee downstairs was incredible ! 5 star quality! Definitely a must stay!!!!

Wonderful experience. Easy check in/out, door codes via text/email. Super clean, functional, and unique. Firm beds. Appreciated the goody basket and guide book. Appreciate easy parking, quiet getaway from the loud/over crowded downtown but not too far away. Really love that part of proceeds goes to a good cause and incorporation of the church artwork and artifacts.

The Russell is an exquisitely adorned church transformed into an absolutely lovely hotel. No concierge on site, with easy online check-in. Wonderful treat basket and champagne complimentary in the room. Our room had queen sized bunk beds which was perfect for my son and I. A Dyson hair dryer in the bathroom!! Excellent stop on our adventure. Highly recommend.

The Russell was a church that has been converted into a hotel. There is no staff on site and check-in and out is done by text/email. That being said, it was effortless checking in and out. There is no elevator but there is a dumb waiter for your luggage. Great care has been taken to make sure your visit is awesome. The hotel is not downtown, but about 2 miles away from the Country Music Hall of Fame. We chose to Uber and it was less than $8….. parking downtown was more expensive than that. A large portion of your bill goes to help others. If I’m ever in Nashville again; I’ll definitely stay here again!!
