The stay in La Citadelle was wonderful. The location itself is a good balance with the all-senses experience of Marrakech. The 45 minute drive is worth it. A rental car is a good way to combine Ourika/Imlil/Anima garden with Marrakech. For around €35 a taxi will take you from Marrakech to la Citadelle. Nadia is an excellent host, and cook. The garden and villa are gorgeous. The pool is large and clean. The interior and architecture of la Citadelle are jaw-dropping beautiful.

A lovely hotel, well maintained with lots of history and some stunning decor. Nadia and her husband (Geward?), are brilliant hosts and, together with the other staff, make it a relaxing, fun and most enjoyable place to stay. Clean hotel, with lovely gardens, with loads of secret/secluded places to have lunch or just retreat from the sun for a bit and the food is amazing. We will definitely be coming back, even if it is just for a long weekend. Me and my partner wanted a weeks break away, where we could relax and destress, and we got that and more at this hotel. We had a jacuzzi bath in our room, which was wonderful, but note that there is no steam room, gym or full service spa (Expedia - please update your information) - although you can go for a run in the area around the hotel and Nadia will be very happy to organise and book treatments at her favourite spa, which the Hammam and zen massage she arranged for us was amazing!

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed at while on vacation. Nadia and her husband have built a beautiful property just 30 minutes away by car from bustling (sometimes too much so) Marrakech. Both the house (more like castle) and garden (incl. a pool) are spacious and beautifully decorated. Nadia and her husband were also wonderful hosts and next to providing a lovely complementary breakfast invited us to play some pétanque with them over beers (and they have plenty of other things to keep you busy there and never even want to leave to sight see). It is also possible to get dinner on the property as an add on (help can also be provided to rent a car/ask a cab). The house is conveniently located (plenty of food options nearby) and you can easily drive towards the Ourika waterfalls/Atlas mountains/Marrakech etc. for the day and come back at night to enjoy the beauty and peace of la Citadelle de Marrakech. They really made us feel at home and we will definetely stay here again if we come to Marrakech again.
