The air conditioning was broken for all 4 nights we stayed - the management gave no updates about when it would be fixed, and it honestly seemed like they did not actually call anyone to repair it. It was very hot (30+ degrees and humid due to no bathroom extractor fan) and we could not open the windows because of the mosquitos. It seems like this is a constant problem for this property based on other reviews, so beware. Other than that, the apartment was very clean, although a little run down. The housekeeping service is a nice plus. The location is not the best - expect lots of walking uphill or taking the bus / tram to see the city. We had no check in issues with the automated system.

We never got access code 48 hours prior to check in as mentioned in the booking confirmation. Messaged the management several times through Expedia, never received a single response. Only to find out after calling the property (with the help from a local with local number) an hour before check-in that they will let you in once you’re at the property. So if you are tourist with no portuguese number, best of luck figuring out your way in. On top of that, AC didn’t work. We had to sleep with windows opened because of the summer heat, which didn’t help due to the noise since our room is facing the main road. Called the management, they said they will send a technician the next day to fix it, HA the technician never showed up. The management came to apologize in person, too bad it won’t fix a thing. Stay away, there are tonnes other options in a better neighborhood with better price. What an absolute joke.

The check-in needs to be improved. We arrived after mudnight and it took us more than an hour to check-in. It is self check in and the system wasn’t working. The next day we saw some people having the same issues.
