Although my stay was ok, I have to give the hotel 1*. Simply for the reason that they offered to book me a taxi which arrived 45 minutes late, and then I was stuck in traffic. I have tried reaching out to the hotel with no response, but deeply disappointed as this was the first time I've used a hotel's taxi booking service when I always can and do do it myself as I thought it would be more convenient. Do not ask them to book you a taxi, you're better off going to look and find one.

Perfect stay, clean and comfortable and located in the old city within a few minutes walk of some of the major historical sights. The hotel overall is very well designed. The entire staff really went the extra mile to provide a great service, room was cleaned thoroughly every day and the housekeepers always added a unique touch. The staff even brought out a cake and wished me a happy birthday at breakfast without us having to mention it. The breakfast was very extensive and had plenty of options food was good. The breakfast area also has a beautiful view of the Bosporus which is a nice bonus. Transfers to and from the airport were comfortable and really easy to organise with the hotel. Will be staying here next time we’re in Istanbul and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for making our time in Istanbul so special.

The location is perfect for quickly walking to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Basilica Cistern. There are also many restaurants withing walking distance as well as a small adequate bazaar next to the Blue Mosque for souvenirs.

I loved the hotel and stay. Very good staff, cleanliness was good and location is great if you want to be in Sultanhmet. I would not recommend this neighborhood though.

Very noisy rooms, kept being woken up by loud bangs from people letting there door go to shut, can hear people talking through walls, windows and ceiling.

I'd gifted myself a quiet weekend visit to the Hagia Sophia, and chose to stay at the Royan Hotel due to its ratings and its proximity to the site. The hotel made contact before I arrived offering any assistance I needed, and agreed to the request I made. Its exceptional customer service continued as the reception staff settled me into my room - with a lovely view of the Bosphorus and the Asian side. I didn't mind getting lost around the floors and buildings that the hotel is spread over, as the lovely paintings, decor, ruins and people I met on the way made my wandering an experience. With her lovely smile Cigdem (pronounced Chidem), and her colleagues in the scenic breakfast room, made the sumptuous breakfast buffet a treat. One morning the staff and guests in the dining room gave me the "Happy Birthday" treatment along with birthday cake, having spotted my birthday from my passport. That along with the lovely towel art I found on returning to my room blew me away. Overall thanks to the hotel manager and the housekeeping and other staff, I had a great weekend I'll remember fondly for a long time. Highly recommended 👌

RH is a fantastic location for travelers, it’s conveniently located in the center of the old city/ Sultanmet. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basillica Cistern, Grand Bazaar, and many museums/shops are all walking distance. Couldn’t be happier with the location and hospitality of the hotel staffs. Rooms are clean and cute. We are coming back again end of the week to stay at one of their water view rooms.

The property is close to all major attractions. It is clean, quiet and well maintained. The breakfast area has a lovely sea-facing terrace. The shuttle was very expensive and not well organized: both times I had to wait more than 20 min for the driver to pick me up. Thankfully, I left enough time for the trip, so I was not late for my flight.

Service was excellent from reception, restaurant service and nice touch in upgrading our room. View was nice. Bedding was firm and comfortable. The sink didn’t drain well though. I would have given it a 5 except for it’s vehicle accessibility. Due to its narrow roads a vehicular jam in front of lobby is always there and late arrivals due to traffic conditions. My husband, myself and fellow travelers are also sensitive to cigarette smoke inhalation due to medical conditions. Even if the smokers were puffing outside the lobby door the smoke still got in the lobby where we were waiting for more than an hour for our ride as our driver was stuck in traffic more than usual due to road blocks.

It was clean and in great proximity to all of the sites. We were sold a guided tour by the hotel concierge. It was not needed as everything was in walking distance. The guide was able to get us moved up in the line at two of the places, but not worth $190 fee. The breakfast was worth the $20 per person, not many great breakfast options close by for a better price.

Great location. Good service. Clean room. Hard sell at check-in on booking guides, tours, and hotel breakfast (great buffet, but high priced at 20euro). We took in the sights ourselves which was easy, didn’t do the breakfast, and did one boat / bus tour through the hotel which was mediocre. Note that they want to be paid in USD or euros because of the inflation in the Turkish lira.

We enjoyed our stay at Royan very much. The hotel staff were super friendly, kind, and welcoming. The reception team was a especially helpful and attentive, answering all of our questions and going above and beyond. The location was incredibly walkable and convenient. The Royan was an incredible way to kick off our trip in Istanbul. Very highly recommend and would stay again!

Absolutely amazing experience with this hotel...most kind and generous hotel staffs at your service and the view was breathtakingly mesmerizing ! the hotel is also located at this wonderful spot where everything is nearby and Manager Aziz and the rest of the team were fabulous and still cant get over the view from the balcony and the entire experience was perfect! we will be staying there again and no doubts about that while we are in Istanbul. ...just totally gorgeous!

This hotel is excellent. The location cannot be beat. It’s a few min walk to all the main attractions. Very friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. The hotel staff treat their guests like family. Aziz gave us great recommendations for breakfast and younger front desk guys were also very quick to help us with anything. They even gave us a gift at checkout. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
