We had a wonderful stay at FAV. The room was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable.
The room had everything we needed to prepare a simple breakfast, and having a Lawson store right next door was very convenient. There were also many restaurants nearby, including the famous Lucky Pierrot.
The free parking was a great bonus, and we always found a parking space even when returning in the evening.
We highly recommend FAV and would love to stay here again on our next visit!

We spent one night in fav Hakodate as we were getting the Shinkansen south the next morning. Its only a few minutes walk to Hakodate Station from where one can get a local train to Shin-Hakodate station. We had a family room - sleeps up to 6 people - so fine for the 4 of us.
There are some dishes and cutlery but not as many as I had expected ( just one sharp cooks knife). Lighting was good. Beds were comfortable. Our room had 2 double beds and 2 single " bunk" beds up a wooden ( fixed) staircase/ ladder. Lavatory was separate to the shower/ bathroom.

I used the laundry room - but unlike in other hotels when one could put in coins for eg 90 minutes drying time , these machines only allowed one 30 minute drying cycle to be selected at a time - meaning I had to go down to the laundry room every 30 minutes. ( same make of machine as in other hotels). I've found that the 3kg max drying load of washing is not quite dry after 1 hour using these machines - so it saves time to select 90 minutes drying time at the outset.
A positive is that one can type in a code so noone else can remove your washing from a machine. Its great that they have 2 machines in the laundry room.

The hotel is pretty new and is modern.
There is no human at night at the front desk. Too much technology as one has to do all the check in things yourself.
We had a large suite but space was wasted and the base of the beds was on a platform which made it really uncomfortable to get on and off. Kitchen also is not a full kitchen
