This is a very nice, very well maintained, nicely furnished and appointed 2nd story small cottage apartment; perfect for one person or a couple. Although small, it has everything you need and everything worked well. The kitchen had pots, pans, utensils, etc. - even spices. The bathroom had nice towels etc. and even had a good forst aid kit. The linens and blankets were nice & clean. Barbara is a conscientious host; when she found out I make tea, she bought a new tea kettle for me/ the cottage. The decor is nice and appropriate for being near the ocean - mostly white with blue with ocean/nautical/sea life images. Guests might want to know that the matress on the queen size bed is firm. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Avoid renting this toxic property. The moment you enter the property it is evident that it has been lived in by someone who chained smoked for years, possibly decades in it. The air quality is extremely toxic. There is sticky tar-like residue in the closets, kitchen cabinets, above the oven and worst of all, bathroom. The owner tried to put a new coat of paint over the walls and few new pieces of furniture, but it does not cover up the stench throughout the house. We tried to stay for 1 night, and it was hell. When we left the following morning - all of our things, our clothes, our suitcases, anything that we brought into the property smelled like this toxic tarry smoke stench. When we mentioned this to the owner who lives next door (her windows look directly into the property) she acknowledge that a smoker previously lived in the house. The house also has cheap air conditioners installed in the windows. They rattle and are loud. The front air conditioning unit spews water onto the balcony so when you open the door to go onto the balcony you get hit in the face with a ton of water spewing out of the back of the A/C unit. There is no parking. There is a place to park by the house itself but the owner uses that spot, along with the spot at her house next door for her cars. Guests have to find street parking, which is not always available. Guests may have to park as much as a mile away and walk to the house. There is a light that is installed at night on the stairs leading up to the house from the ground floor. (The garage shown in the photo is a mystery, you enter the house from a staircase on the right). The light on the stairs turns on automatically and instead of staying on - flashes on and off, If you are epileptic, this could cause a seizure. I suppose this light was installed so that the owner who live directly next door can know when you are coming and going. The property is also in a run down industrial type neighborhood - though close to the high speed ferry to NYC. If we could give it zero stars we would.

Now this is a cozy little place!! Perfect location, close to all beaches along the shoreline, and a great location to take walks, especially the fact that pets were permitted, and we had ours Barbara went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable and enlightened us of all the areas that we should eat and/or visit We will be back!
