A quirky rural hideaway, Keeper’s Cottage offers an idyllic spot to truly unwind from everyday life.. Ground Floor:
Living room: Sky, Woodburner

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bedroom 2: Single (3ft) Bed, Futon (Single)
Bathroom: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Bidet, Toilet
Separate Toilet.. Oil central heating, electricity with generator backup, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Utility room with washer/dryer in adjoining outbuilding. Garden/paddock. 130 acre grounds (shared with owner). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (working farm). Private parking for 4 cars. No smoking. Please note: Accessed via a gated rough track over half a mile long. There is a lake in the grounds, 800 yards away.. Nestled down a long, unmade track, which winds through picturesque tall trees and now, since the winter winds, a storm ravaged, wild countryside, you will find Keeper’s Cottage set amongst the owner’s picturesque 130-acre rural estate. Shared with farm animals, free roaming birds and wildlife, Keeper’s Cottage offers not only a place to stay but an experience and location you will be certain not to forget.
Experience the beauty of the owner’s free roaming bird life, with peacocks and geese waddling and rheas elegantly strolling in the cottage garden and grounds. Wander in the 130 acres, with woodland, lake, and wildlife to explore and see. Swathed in wisteria and magnolia, the stone façade of this old cottage hides a quirky interior, very much taking you back to the 1970s. The unique retro and kitsch style with vintage shag pile carpets, retro patterned tiles and pieces thoughtfully collected from different corners of the earth - even Elvis makes an appearance!
Offering plenty of space for four, the cosy living area makes the ideal place to curl up in front of the log fire; the dining room is the perfect spot to enjoy a hearty meal, its exposed brickwork and stone walls with high beam ceilings add to the setting. A small safe is provided for small valuables. If you can draw yourself away from the peace of this secluded spot, you will find that Crowborough is one of East Sussex’s hidden gems; a small town with shops and countryside pubs to sample, whilst historic Tunbridge Wells is within a 15-minute drive. Cars must have very good ground clearance, as the cottage is located down a long rough track. Shop and restaurant 3 miles, pub 1¼ miles.

If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. Thank you once again to our host Martin who meets guests at the gate to lead you through the forest.
