Having read the reviews before arrival, I quickly established that staying at Traveler’s Best is something of an accommodation lottery. Depending on your room, you may apparently encounter anything from a perfectly pleasant budget stay to the faint suggestion that the city’s sewage system has been granted a key.
Fortunately, I seem to have drawn one of the better tickets. No sewage smell whatsoever, for which I am genuinely grateful, and the shower room is actually very good: clean, modern and pleasantly appointed.
The bedroom, however, is another matter. It is tiny. Not “cosy”, not “bijou”, and certainly not the spacious urban retreat suggested by the photographs on Booking.com.
This is perhaps the biggest disappointment: the reality bears surprisingly little resemblance to the Booking.com photographs. Those pictures appear to have been taken in an alternate dimension in which rooms are considerably larger and spatial geometry is more forgiving.
The mattress is also on the thin side, although perfectly usable. It isn't the sort of mattress that makes you write an angry letter to the United Nations; it simply isn't particularly substantial, and after seeing the photographs and considering the price, one might reasonably have expected rather more.
And that is the awkward bit. This isn't especially cheap accommodation, so the tiny room and rather basic sleeping arrangements are harder to overlook than they would be at genuine bargain-basement prices.
Nevertheless, there are definite positives. The room is clean, the bathroom is good, everything works and — most importantly, given some of the reviews — there is no sewage smell. In the grand scheme of hospitality, this ought perhaps to be a baseline expectation rather than a selling point, but here it feels reassuringly significant.
So, 3/5, to warn you to read all the reviews.

Perfect location for the Old Town (5-10min walk). Lovely bathroom and double shower cubicle with complementary shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand soap. Even had slippers and toothbrushes/tooth paste. Comfy bed.
Fridge in the room with kettle. There was also a communal kitchen area with coffee machine with some complementary pods. Communication great too. Would definitely stay here again to visit this beautiful place.

The appartment is located in the city center, there are small shops just next door along with very nice restaurants.
They provided extra towels, toiletries, slippers, everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The owners also kept in touch every day to see if everything is fine and if I needed anything else.
Surely the best stay in Krakow.

Very good location, Nice bathroom, standard room.
The Bed was very itchy and hard and the TV didn’t work. To add the room didn’t look like the pictures.
