great, cheap place to stay in a fantastic location. right in the heart of Madrid with many close food options and sights to see. Also, there is a flea market that happens every Sunday which is spectacular. There was also a shower in the room which was strange, but became very useful because it was very hot.
the hallway was a little smelly some days. Also hard to get in initially if you don't have a Spanish phone number

It's a good place to stay for a few nights as a solo traveller if you don't plan on spending much time inside. Its super easy to check in, given the instructions sent to me on booking.com. I often saw the cleaner mopping the floors, and overall, the place was kept really clean, including the bathroom. Many people complain about thin walls and the noise level but that didn't really bother me at all, so I had no issues with that. The location was pretty good, it was a minute walk from the metro which was useful, and there are many convenience stores that are open until late nearby, which was useful for me since I came home really late from concerts and wanted a snack or drink. It's about a 20 minute walk from Gran Via and 30 minutes from el retiro, which I enjoyed because I preferred to walk and see the surroundings than use the metro. I also had no worries coming in late because there were many people sat outside in bars and many lights were on, so I didn't feel unsafe at all during my stay.
The main issue that bothered me was that there was no hot water in the shower, and no matter which way I turned the knob and how long I waited, the water was ice cold, which surprisingly doesn't feel as refreshing as you'd think on a hot day, so it was practically impossible for me to shower comfortably. Another thing is that there are no bug screens, so if I were to leave the window open to let some air in while I was out, I'd come back to a few bugs in the rooms. The bed was a bit wobbly everytime I sat down, but I didn't mind it too much. Overall, there's a few minor inconveniences here and there, but nothing really negatively affected my stay that much, except the shower.

Location was great. It is a hostel, so the bathroom is shared. Otherwise, very comfortable.
One night was particularly loud, as some people arrived late, and I could hear the turning of keys as they accessed their rooms. Also, in-room showers are closed off in glass, see-through doors, which can be particularly uncomfortable when you are sharing the room with friends.

-Loved that the room had it’s own shower. I thought there were only shared bathroom options so it was a pleasant surprise!
-the location was lovely. In the middle of the city centre right next to metro station La Latina and tirso de molina. My room was on the patio side so no street noise.
-Instructions to get in were clear.
-the cleaning lady was nice! She gave me a bunch of new towels and an extra pillow.
There were a lot of things bothering me that could easily be fixed, but this host seems to not care about the comfort and wellbeing of their guests. I had an issue with the fan and the host pretended my issue did not exist and gaslighted me about it.
At night it was so warm in my room that I had trouble sleeping. Sleeping with the window open was not enough and added extra noise and chance of bugs coming in because there was no insect screen.
Suggestions:
-put airconditioning in the rooms. I bet there’s enough profit made to facilitate it. Either that or a normal working ventilation system that doesn’t turn off when the light in the room is off. Or during hot periods make sure there are portable ventilators. Cheap option.
-more clothes storing options. There’s enough room for shelves or a small closet. Especially when you’re staying a few nights it would make it a lot more comfortable.
-If you state english as a language option, answer in english. The host did not seem to understand me because of the language barrier, but even when translated to spanish they misunderstood me.
-add some decoration! Make it comfy for people. Doesn’t have to cost much to style them.
-put up a sign for quiet hours. No noise between 22:00 and 9:00/10:00 should be normal. Every guest should have the right to rest and a lot of people don’t respect that. The walls are thin.
-make sure the towels are clean. Mine were full of stains. I got 1 towel for my stay of 4 nights. Maybe put more towels in advance when someone stays long. Now I had to wait til 11 for the cleaning lady to get new ones even though I had plans that morning.
-the matresses are too hard and very uncomfortable. Pillow is too thin.
