The house is located in Verandah Golf and Country Club Community. Verandah is a private, gated, golf course community in Fort Myers FL. The luxury Old Florida-styled Verandah homes exist among moss covered mature oak tree lined streets. The club features full-service dining options, social events and activities, fitness and recreation options. The house is located 5 minutes by bike from the clubhouse.
This majestic home has 2900 sq ft of indoor living area, 800 sq ft of covered patio area and 1300 sq ft of screened in lanai with expansive south-facing views onto the 10th green of Old Orange golf course. In the lanai area there is an outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill and fridge.
The home has 3 large en suite bedrooms and an extra half bath. There is a small bunk room with twin bunk beds for your younger visitors. There is a full office/library to work (if needed) while you enjoy your vacation. The large great room has an open view through sliding doors to the south overlooking a small lake and the golf course. The kitchen dining area also has wrap around sliding doors that further allow one to view the natural areas of Verandah.
The large outdoor lanai has its own living room area equipped with a TV, fireplace, sun loungers, and dining area. The outdoor patio area allows you to enjoy the SW Florida warm weather and sunshine. The heated pool & spa are salt water which reduces irritation of eyes and skin and provides water that is gentler on hair and clothing. Water in a saltwater system also tends to feel "softer".
The community boasts two 18 hole golf courses in Southwest Florida. One is a links-style Jack Nicklaus course. And the other is a resort-styled course designed by Bob Cupp with one of the prettiest finishing holes around. The community has over 10 miles of dedicated walking/biking paths through nature preserves that allow you to observe wildlife as you explore. We have 6 bikes in the garage for biking. There are kayaks available to explore on the Orange River with the manatees that often swim right up to your boat and a launch point near the clubhouse.
The mature oak lined community also offers clay tennis courts, pickle ball courts (8), Bocce courts, a state of the art fitness center, and a brand new resort-style pool. Along with these prestigious amenities, the community is known for having one of the best restaurants and bars in the area with a verandah that sits right along the Orange River and events happening most weekends.
A beneficial feature to your stay at this beautiful home is the wonderful opportunity for golf lovers. For the duration of your stay, you will have full Golf Club access which allows for unlimited play on both courses for a nominal cart fee.
If you manage to find time to leave the community to explore further afield, you are only a short distance from the picturesque and historic Downtown Fort Myers, spring baseball and a hop skip and a jump to the beaches. It is close to I75 which makes it very easy to explore Naples and Bonita Springs while you are here. The house is within 25 minutes of Southwest Florida International (RSW) airport. The airport provides flights to major cities in the US.
We do store a car in the garage when we are not in Florida. If your car fits you are welcome to use the garage. It is a 2 car+ garage.
Minimum rental period is 30 days. Preference is for 4 months during prime time which is January to April. Alternative is 2 months that being January and February and then March and April. Also available beyond the prime time months. Contact owners for details.
The house has a utility cap of $250 / month for which over that amount the renter must re-imburse the owner.
