Breckenridge, CO. is a destination full of history, sites, activities, cuisine, but most of all incredible natural beauty.
Go to Giampietro, on Main Street, for the best Italian food. La Francaise bakery has the most incredible desserts and coffee. Mountain Tees has every souvenir item you for which you would be looking to find.
The Grand Colorado at Peak 8 is amazing ! We have stayed twice before at the Grand Lodge at Peak 7, and both are locations which will have you returning. A new Imperial will be partially phase completed over the coming 2027 and complete by 2030. The family amenities are outstanding, but the over 21 Grotto and outdoor hot tubs make for top level relaxation in quiet soothing atmosphere.
In house movie theaters, arcades, mountain coasters, ziplines, luge, etc. and hiking, cycling, and fishing are all accessible on or near the properties.
Tennis, pickleball, ice skating, shopping are well covered in Breckenridge. In short, no matter the season, this is the place to check out. Winter is a ski in/ski out wonderland with too many runs to count. They range from green to blue to black diamond runs, and you have grills and day use facilities to make meals so affordable.
Heavily hit by drought, I was reluctant to purchase a fishing license. In years past, I have caught and released the largest trout, in my life, dozens at a time. A quick survey of the Blue River, Sawmill Reservoir, and surrounding Reservoirs showed a likelihood of a lack of thriving trout.
It did drizzle rain every day, but much more is the hope for the remainder of 2026 and 2027.

The people at Peak 8 are helpful, friendly and service oriented. We stayed in a larger suite this time and it was beautiful, so clean and comfortable. Could not have asked for more. Peak 8 is spotless, the fitness area, pool - everything is clean and beautiful.
My only complaint is the construction across the street was loud at 7 am.

O Hotel é maravilhoso, na base da montanha, com lockers para os equipamentos de Ski, o que facilita muito, principalmente com crianças. De um lado, você sai do hotel e já está de cara com a Gôndola; do outro, com os lifts. Além disso, eles oferecem shuttle gratuito para qualquer ponto da cidade. O Robbies Tavern é uma delícia, assim como o TBar e o Café que fica ao lado, com funcionários felizes e prestativos (aliás, esse é um ponto alto de todos os lugares que passamos pelo Colorado: um lugar acolhedor, pessoas educadíssimas e simpáticas). Pela manhã é servido waffles com chocolate quente, uma delícia. Amamos o Hotel e o lugar. Breckenridge é um sonho de lindo. Esperamos voltar em breve.

The location was amazing. The rooms were incredibly clean and the service was exceptional. Even for it being slow season there was plenty to do at the hotel.
