The living room & kitchen were ideal, seafront was a 10 minute walk down the hill.
Perhaps a fan or two in the room (especially with 3 beds) would have been ideal, but we did bring our own incase.

Lovely old property well renovated.
Top of a very steep hill! Noisy floorboards upstairs but it is an old property. You get used to it. Needs more information in the house on how to get hot water and heating on and instructions about how to use the old style keypad key safe. Very little information on using appliances and tourist information.

Loved the open plan downstairs, the bedrooms and bathroom were a really nice size.
Beds comfy
Found dog hair around the downstairs, so thought I would give a hoover, which I don’t mind at all.
The hoover wasn’t sucking up. It maybe the bag needing changing or the hoover just wanted a day off…..but it wouldn’t pick up anything from previous owners or crumbs we left.
I didn’t realise how steep it was from the town to the cottage.

Spacious downstairs and location.
1) The approach of Sykes Cottages (the letting company). Before the arrival they sent numerous messages after the booking looking to add further terms (which they cannot do) to what was a nonrefundable and non-flexible booking. Despite sending numerous messages to me beforehand, they never responded to one query I had before arrival.
2) The hosts while helpful when they did respond, were not the quickest.
3) Gas safety certificate had expired in May.
4) Leaking shower and shower tray would not drain properly (although that did improve a bit as the stay went on).
5) Property is a bit tired and can do with freshening up (fresh cowt of paint perhaps). Upstairs floorboards creak a lot too.
6) The amount charged for the stay is not reflective of the property. The advertisement and previous ratings creates in my view an unrealistic impression of the property. The price (albeit I appreciate it was the bank holiday) does not reflect the quality of the property.
7) Should be clearer with what amenities are provided. There was no washing up liquid for example.
8) The property was not that clean. There were white hairs in the bed and a noticeable amount of dust.
