Where to begin? The incredible view from the window, enhanced by the binoculars; the warmest welcome we’ve ever received from a host; every corner of this cottage was prepared in a nice way to make it as cozy as possible. The breakfast basket was full of options of breads, cereals, different cheeses, eggs (they have an egg cooker), orange juice, Nutella, homemade jams (delicious) and many other delicious items, a true feast! With a microwave oven and a kettle it’s totally possible to prepare your own meal. The road to get there was just renovated and very easy to drive. To be honest, the views to get there were some of the most special we’ve had on the island. Ruth sent us all the information we needed to get there beforehand. The electrical mattress warmer kept us warm through the night. This was the absolute best accommodation we’ve had in Scotland and recommend it a thousand times!

Ruth, our hostess, was a true delight! She was welcoming, interesting, and a wonderful ambassador for the area. The suite is very comfortable and immaculately clean. The breakfast supplies were very generous and creative.

Was very cozy. Well equipped with food (even home made jam, and eggs and milk) and amenities. Has a beautiful view.
Bit of a tricky drive out there but we got the hang of it quickly.

The view, the remote location, the sleeping room.
The do-it-yourself breakfast with industrial bread and croissant. The sitting room: the fish-eye pictures are misleading and project a much better impression than the real thing. The overall disorderly outside look of the cottage. We expressed our feelings directly to the owner one back home; she reacted in a most nonconstructive way, basically saying that whoever dislikes her accommodation is "impossible to please". This is unfair: we gave full marks to all other accommodations we went to during our two weeks trip through Scotland. Ruth's place is OK but just not worth the 300 pounds per night price. Most people seem happy with The Rowanberry Suite, we were not: it is our least preferred of seven accomodations we booked.
