Located in Buxton, you will spend time on one of the most prized beaches of Hatteras Island near the renowned Cape Point. Discover endless opportunities for relaxation and fun at this oceanfront home. No desire has been overlooked with all the outdoor entertainment that Hatteras Retreat has to offer! Pull up beneath the home and unload your luggage into the protected first level elevator entrance. Chill out and sip your drinks at the covered lounge area while the kids jump into the sparkling pool and splash in the inset kiddie section. The hot tub is tucked away in this private entertaining area as well. Access the beach directly through the pool gate. Two outdoor showers, foot wash, and a cabana half-bath will welcome you back from a dip in the cool ocean. Whip up some fresh local fish for the whole family on either the gas or charcoal grills. Entering the first level of the home, you will find a custom rec room with pool table and wet bar to aid in friendly competition. A kitchenette is equipped with a full-size refrigerator, microwave and stand-alone ice machine providing easy access to drinks, snacks, and ice for the cooler. You will find two bedrooms on this level - A King bedroom with deck access, and a kid-friendly bunk room with two Pyramid Twin bunks. There is a full shared bathroom in the hallway. Walk up to the second level of the home to find four King En Suites, three of which are oceanfront with deck access. The fourth king bedroom has access to a covered deck and handicap features such as a roll-in shower and roll-under sink. Heading up to the third level of the home, you will be greeted by the main living area with vaulted ceilings and wall-to-wall windows to ensure unobstructed, pristine ocean views! The Master King En Suite is also on this level and features a walk-in closet, master bath with a custom tiled shower and dual vanities, vaulted ceiling, and slider to the oceanfront deck. The main living room impresses with breathtaking blue-ocean views and the chic coastal decor makes you feel immediately at ease. Watch the morning news on the large-screen home theater system while relaxing on the plush couches. Prep for a family dinner in the gourmet kitchen which includes an entertainment island, dual refrigerators, dual dishwashers for easy clean-up, a 5-burner cooktop, dual wall ovens, and a microwave. When it's time to eat, sit down at the large dining table alongside a wall of windows, offering each guest a seat with a view of the panoramic Atlantic. Turn up the music, pour some drinks, and relax on the expansive sun deck, accessible from the great room, which provides unobstructed views of the Atlantic that will surely leave you awestruck. This is one of three nearly identical neighboring homes that rent one or a combination of the three for your group. Hatteras Retreat is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! You can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only. The pet fee of $135 is waived for this property. Pets stay free! This property has 7 parking spots for guests. **Private unheated pools will open on April 16th and close on October 1st. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6 p.m. on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter the backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days. No pets allowed in pools.** Check-In is at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will be provided at this time. Check-Out is at 10am.

We loved the location; Buxton has so much to offer, and there are several great restaurants and attractions nearby. We have been staying on the beach in Buxton for the past four years because of the fishing possibilities. When we checked in there was an issue with cleanliness, but the management sent their supervisor to take care it. She was very apologetic and efficient. We did have to contact the office to get the key code to check in, but after those two issues were resolved quickly, everything about the house was great.

This is a great spot for a large group. The house is beautiful, and sits right on the beach. Great location and overall was a positive experience.

We have been renting through VRBO for the past ~ 15 years. This was our first really bad experience. I was hesitant in renting this home because of their “no cancellation” policy and also that there were no reviews, however, it was in the perfect location and we decided to go for it. Unfortunately, it was a huge mistake. This house is filthy and very run down. When I got to the top of the stairs on the main level, there was a large dead cockroach at the top. That made me wonder when the house had actually been cleaned - not likely someone would have left a dead cockroach at the top of the steps. During the stay we had encountered several other dead and alive cockroaches and ants. They offered to spray, but with my grand child (who is less than one years old) staying with us, I declined. Both dishwashers were filled with dishes when we arrived. There was hair on the floors and counters of the bathrooms. Furniture is very damaged and dirty.I had to wash 4 comforters due to pet urine. Rug in LR was full of pet urine. Many doors to outside don’t lock. Pool heater and lights don’t work. Master BR had a wall half painted in a different color. Company sent me a document to sign for $100 refund in exchange for not posting anything negative. Not what you’d expect for $10K, avoid renting with KEES until they make some serious changes.
