Nestled in Winona, this attractive house for $260 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Beautifully restored 1898 Victorian with River Views! This Farmhouse Apartment is located within the 1898 Joseph Fugina Historic Home, along the Great River Road on the Mississippi River. The apartment has 2 (Queen) bedrooms and 1 bathroom along with a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, formal dining space (great for games!) and a stunning sun-room/living room with amazing Mississippi River views! Outside patios and seating, and gas grill! Fast Wi-Fi and TVs in every bedroom and living room. **Please note: located on the Great River Road, noise from the street and the rattle of passing trains may be heard in the home. Noise levels are generally low, but extremely light sleepers should consider the noise potential before booking. (Also, white noise machines are available in each suite for your comfort!) Also - please note, that all all spaces within the apartment, as with all doors to your space, are completely private to you. Optionally, if desired, the Farmhouse 2 bedroom apartment space, MAY be rented alongside the Riverview 3 bedroom apartment space upstairs. The layout of the home would allow for interior access to both spaces simultaneously for a larger group needing 5 bedrooms. We will not be present during your stay. Fountain City has a great “small town” feel, where it’s possible to walk to bars, restaurants, coffee, and our convenience store. We are located right on the Great River Road. Surrounding homes are residential, with small businesses located right up the road in the Downtown area. Trains are frequently seen right in front of the house, as well as watercraft on the river – everything from boats and jet-skis, to large barges and old-time riverboat cruises! Fountain City does have a large boat launch area if you’d like to explore the river, as well as a nice city park just down the road. Bluffs and other hiking/biking options abound! Watch overhead for soaring/nesting eagles! Merrick State Park is only 5 miles north for amazing opportunities to explore the river, canoe/kayak, picnic, experience wildlife, etc. This historic home offers limited street parking on Great River Road. While there is no driveway or "parking-lot", parking is always abundant for our guests. Fountain City has a great “small town” feel, where it’s possible to walk to bars, restaurants, coffee, and our convenience store; although venturing into Winona, Minnesota (6 miles south) or beyond does require a car. You will enter the home from the side door, which is private to you. All doors and all areas accessible to you within the Farmhouse Apartment are private to you and will not be shared with any other guests staying in the upstairs "Riverview Apartment" space. Each of the two ample bedrooms has a queen size bed, fast Wi-Fi, and TVs in every bedroom and living room. The kitchen is completely updated with modern appliances and an eat-in dining area. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary cooking basics (pots, pans, etc.) as well as table service for six. Enjoy your meal, and some after-dinner games, in the dining room. Converse and take in the breathtaking Mississippi river views from the beautiful sun-room living room. With all the windows, you’ll love how comfortable you’ll feel. Super-fast Wifi for multiple streaming/video calls is available for your convenience, just in case you need to check in with the office. The curved front porch and patios make for easy evening conversation and even more enjoyment of the views of the Mississippi, bluffs, and surrounding area.
