Very central and clean
That it wasn’t made clear when booking that it was half board. We wanted to eat at their new rooftop restaurant, which we did, it was really good. However I was surprised that we had half board which explained some of the cost,
I would not have booked half board, apparently this happens a lot according to reception.

Great location on the sea front Very clean and friendly staff. Lovely rooftop area for drinks and food.
Breakfasts were a huge disappointment and really let the hotel down. Coffees were horrible and the orange juice was reconstituted - extraordinary when there are oranges on every tree in country. Both my wife's poached eggs (swimming in oil) and my scrambled eggs (grey and rubbery - I have had better in the Army) meant that we skipped breakfast the next day. We had though about dining on the great rooftop but decided not to risk it!. The hotel would be advised to improve this as it disappointed in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Reception staff on check in and check out were wonderful, really helpful and accommodating. The location is lovely, right on the old port and our room had a great balcony with beautiful views. The bed was incredibly comfortable and although there was some noise we felt for a city stay it was acceptable. The hotel itself is spacious and air conditioned with lots of seating areas, a good lift, and a carpark in sight of reception which is unusual for Kalamata. they very kindly let us leave the car there all day after we checked out and stored our luggage (although not securely), just in the reception area.
We have been staying in four and five start hotels in the Peloponnese for years (KaSeas, Kyrimai, 100 Rizes, MANNA, Limeni Resort, Ellies Kardamyli), and for over £200 a night the attention to detail was just not up to the standard we would expect. There were aspects of the room that were tired, scruffy menus and marked towels, bathrobes with misshapen linings and the embroidery 'after sex' on the back was a bit much! Charging and plugs only on one side of the bed, the room-safe was too small for a laptop, no table on the balcony so you had to have your glasses on the floor, everything in the mini bar was chargeable (including the nuts that were complimentary in the bar). The shower had a strong smell of drains and on two occasions we could not lock our door as the automatic system was glitching (housekeeping were great and helped us on those occasions). Breakfast was OK but we did not get two of the items ordered and when questioned our request was simply ignored, we were unable to charge lunch or drinks to our room which felt like an oversight. The waiting staff in the cafe were really not good.
