Location and standard of the accommodation was excellent, only a few minor issues with facilities let this down.
Instructions were to collect keys at reception. On arrival nobody in reception. Returned to our car and waited 15 minutes and went back to reception. Had to go through the building to locate a member of staff who advised keys would be in the lodge and that most probably an out of date email had been sent! It would be helpful to ensure up to date communication is issued to guests to avoid unnecessary confusion.
Had issues with both showers in the property. Shower over the bath, the heat couldn’t be regulated and was scalding hot. The shower in the en-suite couldn’t be turned on after a couple of days use. Reported both showers by message as no one answered the phone, messages weren’t answered and showers remained unfixed. Had to use the bath and top up with cold water using a basin from the kitchen sink! Reported in person to reception the next morning, explained we were going out, but happy for the showers to be repaired in our absence. Did receive a message to apologise for the inconvenience, which advised showers would be looked at whilst we were out. Returned that day and showers still hadn’t been fixed. Telephoned reception and did get an answer this time and the receptionist came to look at the showers, took pictures and advised that we should use the en-suite shower by thumping hard on the control to switch on and same to switch off. When in use, the shower either ran constantly cold or scalding hot and in the end couldn’t be switched off properly and continually dripped water. This was our last day and when returning the lodge key to reception I had planned to advise staff that we were unable to get the shower to switch off properly, but there was no member of staff in reception to receive the key. Whilst I appreciate that the showers will be in constant use and that problems undoubtedly will occur, the lack of in person staff available to deal with issues was totally unacceptable as well as the lack of effective communication.

The resort is clean and quiet. The Italian restaurant is very nice.
The crazy golf needs 5 min with a leaf blower each day as it was covered in woodchip.

The property was very well presented and very comfortable for our stay. The hot tub was great and ideal with privacy from resort road. We also enjoyed how well equipped and spacious the property was.
The temperature gauge for tap on the bath in the main bathroom did not work. The water was then on a very hot temperature and my toddler couldn’t take a bath. In the en-suite, there was mould marks around the shower base and there was a foul smell within the en-suite. The shower itself worked and was powerful but when you turned it off it somehow later ended up on again even though there was physically no more turning feasible on the dial. This was irritating when hearing random water drops through the night. The extractor fan seems to be loose on the outside of the lodge at the en-suite which also rattled through the day and night with the wind. I understand these things can happen, however we called reception and were told someone would be over the next day to fix the bathroom issue - nobody arrived and the issue was still not resolved on check out.
