Great location - fully isolated just next to the Knuckles Forest Reserve. The staff was very helpful being always present whenever needed, providing you even the opportunity to book some tours in the area with some contacts they have - great option and greatly organized! The cottage itself was very well designed, with beautifully decorated common spaces making you feel like home.
The owner does not live in Sri Lanka but when we were there, we were sharing the cottage with her and her family (of course we had our own private room with private bathroom). Unfortunately, this was mainly a problem regarding food (both breakfast and dinner) as we were eating all together and in case we were not available at a specific time for the meal, it happened to eat dinner not warm but at room temperature, which wasn’t the best. Furthermore, both for breakfast and dinner, in case we didn’t have it all together, there were leftovers for us (always enough but in case we would like to have some more, that wasn’t possible).
Finally, as we had to pay for dinner and it wasn’t included in the price, I believe that we should choose what to have instead of having whatever was predetermined for dinner.

Myself and my girlfriend loved Pepper Cottage because we felt right at home. It’s a real family oriented homestay with shared dinners and breakfasts every day. Rooms and facilities are super nice and clean too!
It was a bit difficult to find on the road.

Lucian, the manager, is an amazing host and very good cook. we had a feast everyday of our stay, and we felt ver my welcomed and cared for.
the room is quite small and the place is beautiful, however there the garden and the terrace are very small and not so enjoyable to just chill or relax. Also this house is perfect for a couple of night, not so much for resting and relaxing as we had planned initially.
