The breakfast menu had something for everybody and the quality of food served was clearly of a good standard.
We were made to feel most welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
The B&B was very clean and well presented with a charming selection of prints on the walls to make you smile.

- Judy was very welcoming, explained everything and 'took me through the town' on the map. Great preparation for my next three days.
- Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit with seeds and dried fruits, smoked salmon and slightly-too-salty scrambled eggs, hot toast, coffee (and I asked for hot milk for it which was delivered with a smile).
- My room had everything I could possibly need, well designed, neat and tidy.
- I received an email instructing me to arrive at specific times, implying I'd not be welcome (or perhaps not even be allowed in) if I arrived after 6pm. My three connecting trains, if on time, would arrive so that I'd reach the address by about 6.30. So I called but was not met with friendliness and understanding. This is a service industry (I also work in a service industry) and the customer needs to feel cared for including arrangements for arrival.
- The condiments for the toast, indeed the whole menu, had to be selected the night before, instead of being put in normal jars on the table to choose from at the time. I had duly selected marmalade and found one spoonful was put beside my place in a little dish. I felt this was mean-minded.
- Given the very high quality of almost everything, I was disappointed by the pillows: lumpy, thin, as if filled with cotton balls, and both the same (usually, there is one bigger harder one and one thinner softer one, to cover individual needs). The pillow determines a person's quality of sleep. I do hope you will update them.

Really welcoming and comfortable, great breakfast. The room facilities were good and the bedding quality was really good. I was impressed with the bathroom most of all considering that this was a single room. Tea and coffee top ups were always available without having to ask.
Not much really once you accept that you either have to be reasonably fit to walk down into town or to the beaches and back up again to the property or get the car out everything else is great.

Honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay at The Olive Branch! The place was spotlessly clean and just really lovely throughout. Big thanks to the hosts—they were absolute stars, super friendly, warm, and gave us some great local tips for St Ives. Plus, the breakfasts were absolutely amazing! Will definitely be back!
