Not our first stay at Oakley House, it’s a lovely and cosy home with everything you need including a washing machine and drier. The ground floor room is like a separate flat, good for the grandparents! Such a good location right on the front and a free car park space can usually be found along Crag Path.

We booked Oakley House for a family Christmas break. Positioned right on the beach front we saw some beautiful sunsets and had some lovely walks on the beach and the high street is only a 30 second walk away. We had no problems parking near to the property and once the day trippers leave there is opportunity to move the car. The interior was very clean with lovely decor. It really has a home from home feel. All of us were very happy with the bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The kitchen was wonderful. A big kitchen with large dining table and an Aga. This was our first time using an Aga and I now want one! Our Christmas dinner was delicious. You just need to give yourself extra time. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The downstairs lounge was popular with the teenagers for chilling in front of the log burner. The upstairs lounge is comfortable and elegant. We often saw seals in the water from the balcony. There was plenty of games and books to browse through. The only issue was that there was a notice saying do not use the fireplace. A little disappointing but did not detract from our wonderful stay. The rooms in the loft are small but perfectly functional for sleeping in. Both the bathrooms were lovely. The downstairs cloakroom was very handy…but mind your head! The doorway is a little low for those over 6ft. We would love to come back to Oakley House.

What a perfect property this is - the best location, everything a very short walk away, fabulous views, very clean and tidy, and excellent communication from the host. We had a lovely family break for three nights and was nice just to relax in the property. Would be perfect if the fire in the upstairs lounge could be used but the one downstairs was lovely and a nice place to curl up and read. So sorry about the kettle! Definitely recommend and would definitely return.

We so enjoyed our family stay in Oakley House. It was perfect for our family of 5 adults celebrating a special birthday. The house was bigger than it appears in the photos and there was plenty of space for all. The highlight was watching the changing weather and the sea from the first floor lounge. The house was very well equipped with everything we could need. It is in a great position close to shops, pubs and restaurants but practically on the beach. We hope to return again soon

We would defo like to return next year again together as the location is perfect. A couple of things that the owner needs to know , the bunk bed room lock needs to be looked at. Someone was in there and the lock jammed and they could not get out. Luckily they had a phone to call us for help but this would have been scary for children stuck in the room. There was no dishwasher salt so the glasses etc were unpleasant. We got some from the shops and filled up so nicer for the next person. Batteries did not work on the down stairs remote control for the tv. Clocks were wrong and no tea bags which I thought would have been nice. Lovely house just needs some TLC to make the stay perfect.

Loved property and surroundings, well equipped with ample kitchen utensils and cutlery etc. Connectivity of wifi/internet has problems as no connections with the top floor and the ground floor bedroom. We have problems with watching all the main terrestrial channels.
